Mutant Turtles: Superman Legend (ミュータントタートルズ 超人伝説編, Myūtanto Tātoruzu: Chōjin Densetsu-hen) is a 2-episode original video animation, and originally released to VHS in 1996. It is the first original Japanese adaption of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles based on the original 1987–1996 series from Fred Wolf Studios, but not canon. The OVA was created to promote the new TMNT SuperMutants and Metal Mutants line in the series' toy franchise in 1995 by Takara.

Plot[]

The first episode focuses on the SuperMutants where the Turtles explored the temple of the lost Muta Kingdom and free Crys-Mu, the spirit of light called contained inside the Muta Stone. In reward for her freedom, she gives the Turtles four MutaStones with the ability to mutate into Super Turtles for three minutes. When all four Super Turtles combine as one, they become the all-mighty Turtle Saint. At the same time, Shredder and Krang manage to find the Dark MutaStones as they try to awake the demoness Dark Mu contained inside the crystal.

The second episode focuses on the Metal Mutants where the Turtles, April and Splinter, goes on a trip to Japan to assist Kinzou Hattori in removing a ghost haunting the Hattori Household. At the same time, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady teleport themselves to Japan in order to steal the Tablet of the Seven Elements, so they can gain the powers of the Guardian Beasts.
