Greetings Golden Class Members!
It’s time to Celebrate! Imagine approximately 50 Years ago, you stepped onto the campus of Jackson State College and, in 1974, you received a degree from Jackson State University that probably changed your life!
The years, between then and now and during your life post JSU, have given you many causes to celebrate – perhaps you started your career, got married, had children and now are grandparents. As you look back over your life, there are many reasons to be thankful. From our dear old college days at Jackson State to the transformation that our University has made over the years, a lot of life has happened. Now, we are asking you to include this celebration between your dashes!
We are in the early stages of planning for our 50th Year Celebration! As of now, the spring to fall reunion plans are to begin our celebration with a Meet and Greet before the awarding of the Golden Diplomas in May of 2024 with the culminating events, the Golden Class Brunch/Luncheon and the presentation of our financial contribution/check to Jackson State University at Homecoming in the Fall of 2024. This will be a wonderful time to visit the “new” campus, reminisce about times gone by, reconnect with friends and acquaintances, reestablish connections and support our “Dear Old College Home”.
We hope that you will join us at our Golden Class celebrations! This is an occasion that very few get a chance to witness. It is a chance for your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to witness you receiving your diploma and being proud of you. It is also an opportunity for you to leave a legacy or to be an example and show that that education is important. We know that everyone will not be able to attend for various reasons, however, we want to encourage as many as are able to celebrate with us by either attending or giving to the Golden Class contribution.

Golden Class of 1974 are asked to arrive at 7:00 am
Cap & Gown pickup will be held on May 1st and May 2nd at the
Hilton Garden Inn from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
