No se usa television en este caso?
Televisor = The electrical appliance
Televisión = The Broadcast (and the "electrical appliance", too)

The different color is used to take you to the definition of televisor. That's all. What did you think it meant?
I don't care what Wiki says. It's an encyclopedia, not a dictionary, and not official in any way. What matters to me is:
1. The RAE's definition above.
2. Usage. In Mexico, everyone says: Voy a comprar una televisión, and not un televisor. The usage of over 100 million people should count for something. Besides, I had said it was regional.
Hi,
Note this link show the word "Televisor" in a different colour.
By the way check this out:

It is just my thought.....cya
Es cierto, en México es más común decirle "televisión" al aparato.
¡Gracias, Tampiqueña!
Hello Colombo,
the colour has nothing to do with it. If you find it blue, it means it's a link to another website page. The blue colour is the set-colour for Internet Explorer links.
If you find it purple, it means it's also a link, but an already-clicked link. It turned to purple because you've already checked the website page linked to it.
Nothing to do with RAE website, but to Internet Explorer.
I hope I have cleared it up from you.
But, of course, you may think televisor is the proper word of it - actually I will say so. However, we must bear in my mind that there is another option to take, and it's not actually a wrong one.
Kind regards,
Dexterciyo
¡De nada! Lo que es cierto es cierto, gracias a tí por defender nuestra forma de hablar.
1. No one was saying anything about correct usage.
2. The DRAE proves you wrong. It is correct.
Querida tampiqueña,
En ningún momento estaba cuestionando la forma de hablar de los mexicanos, solo estaba discutiendo una idea.
Espero no haber ofendido a nadie.
Seems I've learned another a different mean for televisión.
Thanks for your patient....cya
