I stayed at the Ocean Park Marriott Hotel for a night back in January and it surely lived up to expectation.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by all the staff at the driveway and was swiftly guided to the reception. At check-in, I met Nelson, their Guest Service Manager who kindly greeted me and took the initiative to enquire of my purpose of stay. He was able to allocate an upgraded room for early check-in as he noticed I was traveling with my family along with my 1 year old boy.

I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to the Club Wing including lounge access. The room itself is extremely spacious and perfectly laid out. All facilities including temperature control, sheer/curtain, lighting were easy to operate. The bathroom was very much to my liking, in particular the gigantic bathtub with a separate standing shower. The faucets and water control was very straightforward to operate (This is not typically the case in some hotels as the instructions tend to be not clear and not user friendly). The bathtub was so huge and with a step making it two different levels which comfortably fitted my wife, myself and my 1 year old boy.

Breakfast was offered at the Marina Wing and I would say it was impressive with a variety of pastries, fruits, meat, noodles, congee, etc. Although there was a queue when arriving to breakfast, the staff handled the situation graciously and I was seated shortly after. The restaurant was visibly busy with a lot of traffic but I felt that the service really lived up to its standard, plates were clearly promptly and all staff carried a genuine attitude.

The hotel is exceptionally child friendly and after breakfast, I brought my little one to their playroom which is located beside the Marina Wing. Their playroom was spacious with a lot of different toys, books, playing area.

The hotel is located right beside Ocean Park and beside the MTR station. If you are planning to visit Ocean Park and would like to rest after a long day, this hotel is a perfect choice for you, especially when you are traveling with young children.

I would also like to thank their Front Office Manager, Juergen who assisted with different arrangements and requests prior to arrival. All in all, it was a comfortable and relaxing stay, and I am already planning on my next stay when visiting Ocean Park again. Had a great time at Ocean Park hotel with my 9 months old son. It took a while to check in but that's understandable. The staff are very nice and helpful, Joyce Lam assisted with my check-in (as well as check out) and she gave us a warm welcome.

The pool was wonderful for kids, even babies.

The room is spacious enough with the crib provided by the hotel. Although there's only a shower in the premier room, the hotel will provide a bath tube for baby upon request.

Planned to order room service but discovered "grab and go" service at the Marina kitchen. You get around 40% discount if you don't mind going down to take the food.

Will definitely visit again!

I have stayed at the hotel for 2 nights at the Executive Suite on 6-8 Dec 2020. The hotel has taken the hygiene measures seriously with temperature measurements in each entrance and service team has disinfected the area in a regular basis or whenever a guest has left the M Club or Restaurant. Andrew from the M Club was so helpful and filling me in with the updates in the hotel!

During the stay, I had been using the mobile key card, however, the key wasn’t updated promptly as I was staying for 2 nights, as a result I was locked outside my guest room. When I tried to contact the hotel via the bonvoy apps, the operator has promised to have the front desk to reset my mobile key but never getting back to me and I had been standing outside my room for 15 minutes.

The mobile key issue happened again during the second night, lucky I was been help by Cherry from the M Club who fixed me with a new key card right away.

It was also my first time to dine at the buffet restaurant which they had server to station at each counter and help you with the food. I have to say the food quality was really nice, especially for the poached lobster with the thai sauce!

The bathtub in the room is just amazing!

Last but not least, not sure why my bonvoy apps has only captured my stay on 7-8 Dec and 6-7 Dec is missing.

But anyway apart from the hiccups with the mobile key and the operator, I have been enjoyed so much for the stay!

One night at the Marriott as we had to attend an event in the neighborhood

Booked our self into a Club Room which was nice, light and with ‘wooden’ floors. Nice rain-shower as well and a big and deep square bathtub with a bench in it so very comfortable for soaking whilst watching tv after a day of sailing.
Wooden floor already had grey mold spots on the floor in the bathroom as the glass bathroom door opens to the inside which means it goes straight through the rainshower and becomes soaking wet, including the towel you can hang on the door at the towel rack…..
We booked 2 double beds but these are technically queen-size beds so rather small for 2 adults. Couch in the room and a pendant light in front of the couch which hangs really low so you walk into the pendant when trying to reach the couch. Interesting design flaw.

Towel were a disappointment as they were thin and felt old – no fluffy towels here.

Club room gave access to the M Club – on the website it suggests healthy snacks etc but that was pretty much fruit only. I did not come across anything besides the usual stuff during breakfast and ‘dinner’ snacks. Lounge is open all day with coffee, tea and sodas.
There was a free minibar with very local snacks like soy milk, bbq flavor Chinese brand crisps and another scary looking drink.

Have to say it always amazes me how not soundproof rooms are and why there is always someone in the room next door who has the tv on really loud and has a screaming child up till 11pm which is really annoying if you have to get up early. Maybe because there was a connecting door in this room (note to self, request a room without connecting door)
Might be a good idea to point out to people when they check in they have neighbors and they should keep quiet instead of using loud voices and tv on full volume…..

Staff were super friendly, good Marriott quality overall. Would happily stay here again if there is another sailing vent and can’t be bothered to drive home

PS Swimming Pool is not heated but looks lovely

Checked in to this hotel as we would like to spend a couple of nights away from the city. It is a Marriott afterall and we have had pleasant stay with them in other cities before.
Check-in was smooth and we were told that both of our rooms have been set up with baby bed guard, cribs and baby amenities even when I emailed beforehand to request amenities to be put in one room only. When we walked into our rooms, contrary to what the front office staff said, nothing had been setup. That’s fine, I just had to call the service desk and I did say explicitly on the phone that only my room needs baby amenities, not the other room.
When we came back from lunch two hours later, which is two hours after we have checked in, we were surprised to find that our luggage have still not been delivered, plus both rooms have been set up with baby amenities. How bizarre. That’s fine, called service desk again to chase the luggage and they asked me to describe how our suitcases look like?! Was then told they will be delivered shortly. Waited and waited, nothing came. Called again and said they are on the way to us, still nothing. When they were finally delivered, not even an apology from the bell boy/concierge but the only thing he said to us was that ‘oh you have two rooms so we sent the luggage to the other room’. Excuse me? First all, my father was in the other room at the time and there was no luggage in the other room and no one tries to deliver any luggage there. Second of all, the hotel knows we have two rooms so what’s the problem of sending our luggage if we have two rooms? I don’t know what kind of excuse this bell boy was trying to come up with. A simple apology for sending us the luggage late would do?
I used to work for international hotel groups myself for over 15 years and I have stayed in many different hotel brands myself. Marriott is one of the ones I trust but not after my experience with this one. Have never stayed in a hotel where luggage was delayed for over two hours. Worst of all, cocky staff attitude, does not know what hospitality is. This person has failed his whole team.

We spent here for 9 nights in total. The location is very accessible - walk for a few minutes through the bridge from the MTR station that connects to Ocean Park and the hotel. We met three very warmhearted staffs during our stay - Jason, Issac and Joyce. They provided outstanding, friendly, and prompt service, from my stupid questions to different kinds of requests, they were able to resolve them at the extent beyond my expectation. The environment inside the resort was chill and comfy - lots of vegetation around the entrance level. The room was new, clean and refreshing, and housekeeping ladies did a great job keeping the places hygienic, especially under the pandemic.
This is the first time that we stayed at a local hotel for such a long period, and it provides not just the feeling of home, but also the feeling at home. Definitely will return for next staycation.

I stayed in this hotel twice. One was in late December. I booked the room in Club Wing for the M Club access. Also I got HK$250 dinning credits per night I stayed. The M Club is quite and neat so I can bring my laptop to work there. Also I can invite my business partners to have a coffee talk with me. Moreover, there is a printer that I can print my documents out for free. It’s nice for the business travellers.
For the room, I appreciated that they used Thai skincare brand THANN for the soap, hand wash, shampoo and the shower gel. The bath tub is big enough.
However, there is no switchable glass for the shower area so I felt a little bit uncomfortable when I was taking the shower... I need to pull the partition to separate the shower area and the sleeping area.
The food quality of in-room dining is good.

Another point to mention is that the luggage service was so slow and I waited for 45 minutes for them to bring my luggage down to the lobby. (As I need to check out in a rush)

To conclude, this hotel is suitable for family and business travelers.

First, something about COVID.
I was surprised that there were no one monitoring all the in-coming guests body temperature. There was a thermometer at the main entrance, but it's voluntary. I saw that guests going in without measuring their body temperature. It is the same for all the outlets within the hotel. The overall impression is that, the hotel is very loose in their COVID preventive measures, they don't really care!

The carpark is not free for guests. It's very expensive, charging $500 over night. I personally am not impressed by this arrangement, so just a sharing of fact in case you need this piece of information.

Guestrooms are in general small. Our room was at the end of the corridor with extra windows and wood blinds. But the wood blinds cannot be shading completely from the sun. The bed was facing the windows and we were sensitive to the light in the morning, resulting in not a very good sleep.

If your package includes lounge access, and if you are planning to go, you are advised to go at least 10-15 mins in advance to queue.

If you are going with kids and not going to Ocean Park, there aren't many options of activities within the the hotel. There is a playroom but quite small, not much interesting to do. They offered scheduled crafts activities for kids there but charging like $100 per kid per activity.

There is a pool which looks fun but it's available only outdoor, you might not want to go under the current weather and situation.

If you are buying the package with buffet dinner at Marina Kitchen, you are advised to check in advance and make sure what time can you go for your dinner. We booked 5 days in advance for the session at 6:30pm but when we were there, we were told that all guests under package can only go at 8:30pm. We have never been told about that, not from the booking, reservation and not even at the check in. At the end, we were allowed to take a seat outdoor only by 7:15pm and no one really served us (like setting up the table, getting me a highchair for the baby and kid utensils) and then, we were not allowed to get food at 7:45pm. I am not sure what do you think, we were not able to finish our buffet dinner within 30mins and we were with a young kid and a baby. I feel so bad! I was starving that night and woke up to fill my stomach with the complimentary potato chips at night. That's the only thing I should be thankful to the hotel!!!!

If you are a Hong Kong local resident, one additional fact you might be interested to know is that, we have noticed that all amenities in the guestrooms are written in Simplified Chinese and English.

We used to celebrate birthday of my daughter in a hotel and they were all fantastic experience except this one. We as a whole family would not recommend anyone with young kids to go.

My wife and I stayed for two nights to visit Ocean Park and found the hotel to be luxurious and convenient. We stayed in a Club Room, which was modern and classy with all the amenities you would expect at an upper class Marriott. The standout feature was the deep bathtub that feels like a hot tub when filled.

The hotel has a resort feel as it has several wings that surround a large inviting swimming pool. The pool was closed when we were there due to Covid and winter weather.

We had breakfast included, which was quite good with a selection of Western and Chinese dishes. The breakfast would probably get a bit monotonous if you stayed too long at the hotel.

Not only is the hotel convenient for going to Ocean Park next door, it is also only 1 MTR station away from Admiralty so you would be able to get to all the hot spots in town easily as well. Going the other way 1 station takes you to Wong Chuck Hang, where you can get food at much lower prices than at the hotel. You can also take a short bus ride to Repulse Bay and Stanley, which are definitely worth visiting. The only drawback to the location is the lack of shops and restaurants in the immediate area.

The staff were all friendly and helpful.

I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel for anyone who wants to visit Ocean Park or prefers a quieter resort setting or does not want to be trapped in a crowded city while still having easy access to the city.

With myself, my wife and our soon to be two year's old son's birthday upcoming soon, we have decided to booked our stay with Marriott Ocean Park, together with a full family day in OP with our kid. To avoid heavy foot traffic and congestion, we decided to check-in on Sunday and to leave on Tuesday. OP Marriot is very well staffed, which we felt welcomed and taken care of throughout our stay. We are very satisfied and will definitely recommend to families, especially those with children.

Although we arrived the hotel slightly early, their staff have immediately arranged early check in for us. With both Christmas and three of our birthdays coming shortly, we decided to tried our luck for a complimentary upgrade to the Club Wing side, which we DID! Besides the room upgrade, Angel, the manager, also arranged a small gift for our baby boy, together with a small cake for our family. We were surprised and delighted, and these extra compliments at the right moment is a valubale memory for us. Besides Angel, one of her colleagues, Vivian i believe, was aslo very professional and sincere, who patiently follow up our room check-in to make sure everything is fine. She also granted us access to the club lounge for cocktail and refreshments, which was exactly what we needed at the point after settling in. I must again stress that Marriot (Angel and her team) are well trainned and organised, they are definitely an asset to the whole resort. We must congrats Marriott for realising their customer centric endeavour.

Hotel facilities wise, its siganture feature must be their large outdoors swimming pool, with plenty of open space for kids to run around. Hotel location wise, it is super close to the main entrance of Ocean Park and Ocean Park MTR Station, making it a very convenient and connected spot for travellers and tourists from abroad. The only complain (or suggestion) that we can think of will be the breakfast arrangement at their Sea View outlet. Basically breakfast is divided into 2 rounds, which the restaurant is pretty much cleaned and empty when round 1 is nearly done. However, the restaurant manager refused to let round 2 guests who arrived early to get a seat sooner, even requested by different customers. My opinion is that the sesting organisation could be done better with more flexibility, while understanding official round 2 time hasn't started yet, to be fair to the hotel.

In all, we had a very pleasurable stay and customer experience at Ocean Park Marriott Hotel. We will highly recommend Ocean Park Marriot Hotel to anyone with no doubt from the bottom of our hearts.
