More than seven months after Hamas launched the deadliest terror attack in Israel’s history, the world is still reeling from the carnage as well as Israel’s response to the massacre and kidnappings. It all stems from Hamas’ surprise attack on the Nova Music Festival on Oct. 7, 2023, which left more than 400 people dead and dozens taken hostage — a catastrophe that’s the focus of a new Paramount+ documentary launching this fall.

We Will Dance Again, a new film from See It Now Studios, will tell the story of what happened through the eyes of more than a dozen survivors, many of whom videotaped what happened as the massacre unfolded. Paramount+ announced the documentary on Thursday, as Israel’s incursion into and attacks on Gaza in response to the Oct. 7 attack continue to unfold.

“The human cost of what happened on October 7th in Israel, and the war in Gaza, has been catastrophic,” See It Now Studios president Susan Zirinsky said about the new documentary. “We can’t tell everyone’s story. This film is about innocent young people, forced to fight for their survival. It is a painful story of unfathomable tragedy, and also of bravery, sacrifice, and heroism.”

The film blends eyewitness accounts from the attack with footage captured by both the victims as well as Hamas. A focus is what happened at the music festival, which was supposed to be a celebration of love and music for thousands of young people but became one of the first targets when the Hamas attacks began.

We Will Dance Again is directed by Yariv Mozer, whoee other credits include The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes and Ben Gurion: Epilogue, My First War. Paramount+ hasn’t announced a specific release date yet, beyond mentioning that the documentary will debut on the streamer this fall.
