- luxuryvoyageSwitzerland3,957 contributionsVal Fex is a wide, open valley and can be walked, biked or taken in a horse-drawn carriage and is suitable in all seasons. It takes about 1 hour on foot to reach the terminus of Hotel Fex. On foot or by bike you can go further into the valley behind the Hotel Fex. In the middle of the valley there is another restaurant where the carriages also stop. The horse-drawn carriage rides can be booked privately or publicly, in winter only privately.Written November 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - inkwave17Switzerland570 contributionsVery interesting museum giving insights into Nietzsche's life and especially his time in Switzerland. You are given a guidebook to take around with you that offers additional explanations to the exhibits, which was helpful. As there is little discussion of Nietzsche's importance or why he is famous, it is perhaps best suited to those who already know a bit about him. This is probably where there is some room for improvement, to place Nietzsche in more context for those with less familiarity and explain more about his ideas and influence on later thinkers, etc. as well as to explain why Sils was chosen as a place for relaxation and respite.
The house itself is quite small and this limits the space available for the museum, but it also therefore retains a lot of the historic character and we enjoyed our time there and felt it was worth visiting.Written June 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Really great skiing teachers: both Dea and Julia were patient, enthusiastic, encouraging and technically highly competent. Absolutely great with the kids.
My little one did six half days going from total alpin ski beginner to being able to ski down the beginners hill safely and even partook in the slalom “race” on the final day.
The Kinderland hill is right in the middle of Sils, very safe and convenient with great infrastructure (WC, changing room, lockers etc) a few yards away.Written January 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - n_wiedenhofNuenen, The Netherlands724 contributionsEvery year when we are here we have a look at this little chirch with its queit atmosphere, just to sit down and relax. And sometimes there is an organ polayer or a siner who makes a rehearsal.Written July 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sebastian SLondon, UK111 contributionsSeeing this flyer with an image of Max Ernst drew me by bus today to Sils-Maria to the Robbi gallery's exhibition "The Oberengadin in painting, drawing and photography". When I read this text, I thought the 'special' exhibition (Sonderausstellung) was going to have pictures by some of the other artists listed in the flier - apart from Ernst himself - e.g. Holder Chagall Dix and Kokoschka. But no. There is that one solitary piece from 1935 by Max Ernst, but no work at all by any of the the others.
The other private galleries in the area which do not charge admission are as good as this one which does.

As it was time to close shop, she offered to exchange the item the next day with her husband ( day off for her) who was going to be informed. She guaranteed no trouble. In and out. Following day, after 30 minutes trip to the shop, the husband denied the free exchange and made me pay for it. Apart from the money , his attitude was nasty and snippy. He was rude and made me feel humiliated and ashamed in my request to exchange their equipment. Not only they retraced they word but the whole experience was something I hope you will never experience. I have come to Engadin for 57 years. I had been in many other sports shops in the valley. In general, local Engadiners may , in some cases, exhibit some attitude towards foreigners. To be expected. But this was big time Teutonic @sshole attitude. Big mistake to shop there STAY AWAYWritten August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
