Whats the standard Height and Width of the inside of a passenger railroad car?

Question

Hey, I'm trying to make a game with an inside train level, it'd help to have some basic measurements to get the scale right. I tried searching it up but couldn't find anything. Some help would be nice!

Thanks :)

Edit: I realise my question was kinda dumb since there is no standard. So I'd like change my question and ask what's the height and width of the Central Line train in London

(I did add a photo if that helps!)

Absolutely no such thing as standard. Depends on the country, the track gauge, the loading gauge, etc. Just pick one you like the look of as inspiration.

There isn't one. It depends on track gauge, loading gauge, country and infrastructure.

As others have said l, there’s no universal standard. Most cars built to where they need to fit Old tunnels dictate the size of most passenger equipment in the US.

You can look at Amtrak standards for what they have built so that it fits into the tunnels into New York. This standard doesn’t apply to the bi-level rail equipment though.

Also, you can just visit a railroad museum and measure some typical streamlined equipment and get a reasonably typical numbers.

An empty baggage car would be the best as it would have the least amount of walls annd materials inside the car.

This.. is even evident in early 20th century equipment.. Santa Fe had observation cars, NY Central did not. The height of tunnels and bridges made them impossible east of the Mississippi

The popular comet cars were ordered first by Erie Lackawanna, and put into service and refined by NJT (the RR that still runs more of ELs routes than anyone). But Metro North, LIRR, Connecticut, Maryland and others have their own designs on the same frame.

Google up UIC type X, UIC type Y and UIC type Z standards.
