Can something be as bad as when you had the misfortune of listening to it over ten years ago and you have to bleach your ears to forget how bad it actually was? No it is worse.

Why would the wu let their masterpieces be turned into dubstep (which is the garbage eating goat of Electronic Music) this is the same as them going Screamo metal... Pass on this one if you are a Wu Tang fan... Or an EDM fan... They shoulda gone the House route.

A very interesting release this, I remember seeing it advertised on Undergroundhiphop.com and just thinking "Wu-Tang and Dubstep?! It'll never work!".. Needless to say I was wrong. Some people (me included to be fair) may be slightly perplexed by some of the songs chosen to remix here (who the hell is Son One anyway?), and that there are alot of other Wu-Tang songs which would of been welcome replacements.. But i suppose you can't have everything, and I guess I'm missing the point of the release by complaining about it. It isn't about the lyrics afterall, well not completely at least, more over how the remixes meld the two genres together. Initially I thought that maybe simplicity in production would be better suited to successfully combine the two, as I figured too much head f**king bass would sound messy with the lyrics behind it; one distorting the other, but suprisingly this isn't the case. Although songs such as 'Cinema' by Chimpo (which offers such an atmosphere of dread I fear I couldn't listen to it in the dark) or 'Street Corners' by Scuba (which offers a complete opposite atmosphere; sublime chilled out beauty) do stick with the simple approach, other songs work extremely well through doing the opposite. Songs such as 'Iconoclasts' by Syndaesia & AKS which contains a bassline so mind bending I'm really shocked it doesn't completely drown all the lyrics completely and 'Wu Tang' By DZ which, well, what can you say about that bassline.. ridiculous. Other honourable mentions include Excision & Datsiks remix of 'Biochemical Equation' (Damn, I think that bass is pretty close to brown noise..), Evol Intents evil as hell remix of 'Lets Get It' (What else do you expect from them though honestly?) and Sorokas 'Pencil/ My Piano/ Fireplace' (which is epic and beautiful in equal doses, with a nice morphing bassline). The only song I don't particularly care for however is 'Now Or Never', as its just downright irritating and once again; who the hell is Son One?

Small gripes aside though this is a pretty solid release which showcases alot of fresh talent in the Dubstep genre, as well as offering you something you definatly won't of heard before.. Wu-Tang & Dubstep? Now theres a novel idea...
