With gorgeous upland heaths, sprawling commons, vibrant arboretums and tranquil trails along the River Wey and its navigation channels, there’s more than enough to keep you exploring.
Some of the finest hikes around Godalming take to the hills and seek out panoramic viewpoints. The region’s commons and heaths are havens for wildlife where you can spot lizards sunning themselves, red kites soaring above and dragonflies aplenty. Hydon’s Ball is one of the county’s highest points at 587 feet (179 m) and reveals stunning views across the Surrey Hills AONB.
For less strenuous outings, there are plenty of serene waterside walks with beautiful meadows and the company of canal boats chugging along. However you decide to explore the region, there’s always a country pub to unwind in after a day exploring the trails.
