Ian Happ delivered a three-run double, walked twice and stole two bases Sunday as the Cubs topped the Reds 4-2.

It’s Happ’s 10th multi-RBI game of the year, which is kind of interesting because he has only 30 RBI total. Just four times in 61 games this year has he driven in a lone run. The two steals pushed his season total to five. It’s the third time in his career that he’s swiped two bases in a game.
Shota Imanaga

CHC Starting Pitcher #18

Shota Imanaga got back into the win column Sunday after allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings versus the Reds.

He struck out seven. Imanaga, who was 5-0 through six turns this season, had gone five straight starts without a win, though only the last two of those outings were bad. His ERA stands at 1.96, and the Cubs are 10-2 when he pitches, compared to 22-32 the rest of the time.
Hector Neris

CHC Relief Pitcher #51

Héctor Neris threw a perfect ninth with a two-run lead for a save Sunday against the Reds.

Neris has been effective throughout, but it’s come with an ugly K/BB ratio. Fortunately, he’s starting to turn that around some now, having struck out six and walked two in four innings this month. He has a 22/17 K/BB ratio now, compared to 13/14 through his first 16 appearances this season.
Pete Crow-Armstrong

CHC Left Fielder #52

Pete Crow-Armstrong went 0-for-4 on Sunday and is 3-for-23 with no extra-base hits since being recalled May 30.

The Cubs seem to want Crow-Armstrong up for the long haul this time around, but it might be that he’s still not quite ready. If he’s still slumping in a week, the team might decide to try something different.
Nico Hoerner

CHC Second Baseman #2

Nico Hoerner (hand) is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Reds.

Hoerner is dealing with a small fracture in his right hand, and he won’t be able to play until the pain and swelling are able to subside. While Hoerner is out, Michael Busch will handle second base duties. Hoerner should be considered day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list can’t be ruled out just yet.
Seiya Suzuki

CHC Left Fielder #27

Seiya Suzuki (side) is the designated hitter and hitting second against the Reds on Sunday.

Suzuki missed a couple of games while dealing with tightness in his side/oblique, but he’s back in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against Cincinnati. The outfielder has dealt with injuries over his first two-plus years in the majors, but he has shown fantasy upside when he’s in the lineup.
Dansby Swanson

CHC Shortstop #7

Dansby Swanson went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and an RBI against the Reds on Saturday.

Swanson brought his average up to .220 with the three-hit effort. He’s following up a down season last year, when he hit .244, with even worse production this year. His 27 percent strikeout percentage would be the highest of his career and his .147 ISO would be the lowest. Maybe Saturday is the start of a turnaround for Swanson, but there haven’t been a lot of positives for him this season.
Ben Brown

CHC Starting Pitcher #32

Ben Brown allowed three runs in four innings and took the loss against the Reds on Saturday.

Brown gave up three hits, walked one and struck out three. He allowed five runs in his last start, which was also against the Reds. Brown has completed five innings in only three of his eight starts for the Cubs this year. He’s still looking for his first win as a starting pitcher. Outside of his performance on May 28th against the Brewers when he went seven innings, allowed no runs and recorded 10 strikeouts, Brown’s been fairly pedestrian when starting. The 24-year-old right-hander is tentatively scheduled to face the Cardinals at home next week.
Nico Hoerner

CHC Second Baseman #2

Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters Saturday that Nico Hoerner has been diagnosed with a small fracture in his right hand.

Counsell added that team doctors are comfortable with Hoerner returning to action if the pain and swelling subside in his right hand. It sounds like the club is going to take a few additional days before making a decision on whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
Seiya Suzuki

CHC Left Fielder #27

Seiya Suzuki (side) is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Reds.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to see the Cubs proceeding cautiously here after Suzuki left Friday’s showdown for precautionary reasons due to left side tightness. The 29-year-old corner outfielder has dealt with oblique issues on both sides over the last few years, so it’s understandable that Chicago doesn’t want to take any chances here. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
