Alix's exceptional skills and demeanor truly stood out. She was an expert and made me feel accommodated and at ease from the minute I walked in to the minute I left. - Tek802 contributionsMy hair fell out. I recently had the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had getting my hair done. I’ve gone to Charles Penzone for many years. This time I had a hair stylist named Raven. She was rude and put in about 3 times as many foils. They took a very long time to put in. When she got to the point of cutting my hair I couldn’t tell where the end of my hair was. I felt my hair and big clumps of hair were coming out in my hands. Yes, my hair was falling out. Someone let it slip that issues with this stylist are reoccurring. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of hair and when I went home and put my hair in a pony tail I noticed a bald spot at my hairline. My hair now sticks out funny from all the breakage and will take years to grow back. Unfortunately, management just tried to save face. Acted like nothing happened and tried to sell me product. I was shocked. I will never go back. There was no customer loyalty. I’ve gone to Charles Penzone for many years and never had an issue. I can’t believe they will let a stylist who has ruined a customer’s hair continue to work and ruin other people’s hair. I felt compelled to write a review to warn others. I don’t want this to happen to anybody else. My daughter and I went for facials, & we both felt thoroughly pampered. They really have thought of every detail - small and large. All of the employees are kind and helpful. Taylor did my facial and she is AMAZING!!! It takes me a lot to relax, but Taylor’s gentle touch and the lovely products helped me to zen out completely! Some of the guests- younger women- were a little loud for the environment, but they had ear plugs😉 I highly recommend this spa when you want to be thoroughly pampered! Workout for the day was a grind and amazing at the same time. When I called to check on the services and make reservations, the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. We each had a massage. In addition, one had a manicure and one had a scalp massage/hair styling. (I picked the scalp massage/hair styling and my sisters said I was absolutely beautiful. But they could have been stretching the truth a bit.) We were greeted when we entered and each thought we surely had the best therapist! We left relaxed and knew we each got more than our money's worth. == (To TripAdvisor - you need to add a choice to your "sort of visit." - Sean SNew Albany, OH4 contributionsLet me say that we visited Rest before and enjoyed our first experience enough that we made an appointment to cap off our anniversary weekend.
The front desk person was rude, threatening to cancel our appointment when we arrived 20 minutes early. She said as new customers (which we were not), we were supposed to show up 30 before for a tour. We even showed email confirmations from our previous visit and told her where the oxygen bar was, but she still refused any admission she was wrong. When asked to speak to a manager, they said none would be available.
We were then "sat down" for the next 15 minutes before a second employee (who was far nicer) came and found our information on the computer—no apologies from the first woman. We were then rushed to our rooms with barely minutes to spare without time to select our music from the menu.
The water was cold because they didn't have time to prepare our pod, and our rooms were not clean. We left our pods early and just sat in the exit lounge. Again, no apologies, no admission of wrong. The first woman even increased our bill since we weren't first-time customers.
The WORST part? I contacted management six times over three weeks, with only one response after I forwarded my message to the general manager. The manager asked to speak but would not respond to 3 follow-up messages over the next two weeks.
Everyone has bad apples in otherwise good companies, but this was a terrible experience throughout.
