      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Though a minor entry in Eastwood's body of work, Gran Torino is nevertheless a humorous, touching, and intriguing old-school parable.

Deborah Ross The Spectator It is a flawed movie, vastly overwritten, with characters pointing things out that we've long worked out for ourselves. Still, the self-referentiality of Eastwood's performance ensures that Gran Torino isn't just absorbing, but also moving. Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online Seeing Eastwood ward off young gangsters was odd... well, but he pulled it off enough. Loleini C I hate how this makes me cry but it's such a good movie. Whenever I watch this it makes me hate his kids, daughter-in-law and grandkids that *extra* bit more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/19/24 Full Review Stephen B Vying for my favorite movie ever. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Grant R Patriotic and bold. Strong performances from talented actors. I loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Ravi T It was good. Some parts seemed really unrealistic or exaggerated to me. It was a simple but entertaining story though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Ava S It exaggerates silly stereotypes to make a statement on machismo, one's shadowy past, and grappling with a changing world, but you can't help but enjoy Gran Torino for these very reasons. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
