My husband and I used Cycling Country for part of our trip to Southern Spain. We were blown away by the experience. We did the self-guided experience which was seamless at every turn. Our bikes were high quality, and the rides had multiple options tailored to how we were feeling each day. The hotels selected along the journey were stellar. We fell in love with each one, and they were hotels we never would have found on our own. Truly incredible. Lastly, the company (especially Maggi) was highly attentive and kind - making sure we had everything we needed. Cycling Country is a great tour company to hire if you love to cycle and seek a bit of convenience. We saw the countryside and got away from the usual tourist traps. We had the best time on the March 2023 Olive Trails tour. Beautiful villages, lodging and and incredible food. You definitely get the feeling that this is a family run rather than a large, impersonal tour company. Geoff and Maggie do a great job of creating unique cultural and riding experiences in areas they have come to know and love so well. We hope to tour with Cycling County again in the future!

Julie and I had an incredible time riding with our group and leaders on the roads and race course of La Vuelta. Geoff, Dean, Jose and Santi are not only fun and interesting to travel with but go way beyond expectations to make us comfortable and ready to ride! My husband and I just finished the absolutely fantastic Cycle to the Med self-guided bike trip from Cycling Country. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company and its fabulous owners, Geoff and Maggi. From my first email inquiry to the amazing end-of-ride lunch spot they recommended and everything in between, it was a flawless, top-notch experience. This route is a newer offering for them, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The scenery was beautiful and varied. There was mix of challenging climbs, thrilling descents and breathtaking coastal riding. The hotels were all excellent--and quite different. Geoff and Maggi were super accommodating and worked with us (even mid-ride) to tweak a few things. They clearly know the area inside and out, and all of their restaurant recommendations and points of interest were divine! Highly recommend!

The Portugal tour ALENTEJO was amazing, weather was perfect in March/April timeframe, very nice scenery, spectacular hotel/castle, amazing food. Tour offer a good variety of landscape, some challenging at times but all well worth it. I can't get over the magnificent Castle and former Monastery we stayed in, just the hotel alone are worth the trip!!!. It was a guided tour and Geoff was fantastic and very helpful and knowledgeable about the places visited and all around way of life there. A must do…

My husband and I are back from our biking trip in Portugal with a suitcase full of wonderful memories. I would like to thank Cycling Country for the amazing organization that they provided to make our trip go as smoothly as it did. The bikes were very comfortable and in great condition (thank you for the special Dutch-style bikes – they were great!) and well equipped with emergency tools. They really thought of everything we might need along the road. The "Ride with GPS" navigation was very easy to follow and had lots of interesting tips and useful information. Also the hotels were all very nice and in great locations. In addition, the support we received before and during the trip was first class. Above all, the scenery was fantastic and the trails very varied along the coast, through beautiful parks and interesting places. I highly recommend both the trip and Cycling Country as the organizers.

We had an amazing experience at the thermal spring, the water was about twenty eight degrees and crystal clear. It was busy..about fifteen people but still amazingly warm. The spring is very small, about the footprint of two cars, but still great and natural. Avoid the weekends and holidays as it will be extremely busy..

Amazing place! We parked in the resort car park and walked back to the free baths. At the time, there were barely any people there, so we had the whole pool for ourselves. The water is really warm, but not too hot as to bother.

Quite small so it was full when we first arrived. Returned early the next morning and it was again full of local men socialising - didn't feel comfortable as the only woman. Apparently there are other hot springs in Granada that are bigger and more accessible so we are going to try those. Parking is difficult when busy.

The spring water were fantastic. The only unpleasant situation is the rubbish that the people left behind. If the people left the place in similar or better condition than before the world will be a planet for all of us.

I walk through the park here every morning with my dog. It's so peaceful and pretty and my favourite place to start the day before work.

It's ok. Nice walk along the river. And the natural spa if you like that kinda thing. Spa is just one pool.

Looking for a spot of sailing, Kayak or messing about on the water. Took the wife and kids kayaking for the first time. All equipment is provided and life jackets so for not very strong / confident swimmers a relief. The staff gave a quick instruction before sending you on your way. Even on a day in the high 30’s a cooling breeze across the lake helped make the experience even more enjoyable. We had double kayaks. The kids enjoyed it some much went back a couple of days later and had single kayaks as kids wanted to be more independent and in control. Take a couple of plastic bottles of water with you to take out on the kayaks and flip flops to cross the landing area to the kayaks, travel light as no lockers to stow stuff in whilst out on the water.

A Nice daytime activity. Excellent friendly staff. Nice lake with clear blue water. Lots of things to do. In and out of the water. Prices are good.

Nice way to spend some hours in the lake, hace a swim and do some kayaking. The staff is extremely nice and will welcome you and give you nice tips. Good option to get away from the crowded beaches

Very nice place for outdoor activities! You can choose among kayak, paddle surf and pedal boat. The owners are very friendly and helpful, all the safety measures are applied. The pedal boat with slide was amazing! The place is a must if you visit the zone, we will come back for sure! :)

Four friends and I hired a few kayaks for a couple of hours. We all had incredible fun on the vast deep blue lake. The water was very clear and at 24° a delight to swim. The owners of this outdoor centre were just the best. They were very friendly and helpful. The gorgeous Tamara spoke very good English and was a great laugh. One couldn't possibly want for better or more competitively priced experience

Excellent!! They were extremely accomodating and very patient with us (very inexperienced water people). Even when one of our kids broke in tears and wanted to get off the kayak, they kindly stayed around with her whilst we kept rowing a bit longer. Tamara and her partner were knowledgeable and very kind. The location is great, they recommended to come in the morning as the lake got a bit windy in the afternoon (true when we visited in April)! Would definitely recommend...

Phil and Simone are fantastic hosts, so welcoming with tea and cake on arrival even at 23.00! Phil even comes out to meet you at the nearest village Colmenar to guide you in. The Guest House is spotlessly clean, with views to die for. Breakfast was fab, as we're evening meals. Simone makes amazing cakes, not to be missed. The activities on offer at very reasonable prices are brilliant with lots to chose from, diving, walking, climbing, land rover safari,you will not be bored here. Lovely pool, lots of outside seating areas to take in the views. Make sure you hire a car as it is out in the hills so you will need it. Can't recommend Casa Mojon highly enough it was great....

Lovely rustic B&B very clean some unique little touches in the decor.nice little swimming pool and beautiful views. The host were very friendly and helpful, very tasty breakfast with lots of choice. Would definitely go back.

If you want to experience the spanish culture this is the place! Phil and Simone is a really friendly and kind couple, Active Andalus is catering for all sorts of activities and deliver really good service, and brilliant food!

Amazing architecture and amazing views from the castle of the surrounding city, countryside and mountains. We walked up to the castle from downtown, but it is easier to have a taxi drop you off there. We enjoyed our visit very much, and spent about an hour and a half exploring the castle, it’s surrounding walks, and gardens. There is a small museum inside the castle with good historical information, and it is included in the cost of the entrance fee. A great place to visit for great views and some fantastic photos!

No complaints the tour was excellent , beautiful place to visit. I enjoy posting video and pictures on Google before I do anywhere. Firs I check Google review, it great engine. Please travel.

It is seriously frustrating coming to Spain to speak Spanish and Sunday, I've heard English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and only the taverns spoke Spanish. The place is serious walking. Measured 12000 steps up, just up. The castle close by is a dream HOWEVER, as someone 58 years old, I'm super glad I did the highest fortress first!! The walk through the castle is a museum and it's intense, accompanied by the Roman Amphitheater. All that first would have lowered my drive. Oh! Are you a video gamer? Tell me where you find a scene from Witcher 3 in the castle grounds. Look for it! He had to kill them all. Tell me when you find it!!

Only walls left from the original castle, but since the views from them are great and the entrance is dirty cheap, it's still worth the climb. Don't miss the audio guide QR code just after the entrance! FYI, the two castles are connected, but you cannot use the connection, and have to go around.

It looks like a fort with great views of the city and a low entrance fee. Our Taxi driver was unaware of where the main entrance to the castle was and we ended up being dropped at the bottom of the hill. This resulted in a long climb to get to the top, only to be greeted by a few cars and a tour bus. The castle had well maintained gardens and a little building with some historically relevant objects and information. The path going around the top of the walls is quite narrow and preferably should be one way but worth it enough for the views.

Long and steep walk to this castle on the edge of Málaga but worth every step of it for the incredible views of the city and surrounding area. The castle itself is pretty cool too and worth the small entrance fee. A great way to spend a couple of hours.

Very nice place to spend 1-2 hours when the sun is not strong. (The last entry time is around 19:00) If you take the bus no.35 from the main road(the big one between the green park), the total cost would be 6.3 Euro per person ( entry 3.5 + bus 1.4 x 2 ). The stairs are somewhat high so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. * Tips for public transportation as I leaned :) - Bus : 1.4 Euro per each ride The driver takes small cash (no 10 Euro bill!) or you can pay w/ VISA/Master card (great!) - Metro: (only) 0.3 Euro per each ride So never charge a high amount!!! There is no refund function in the machine. And there is no integrated ticket for bus+metro.

The long history of these walls and fortress, wonderful views, a walk along the walls with viewpoints on every side of the city. Buy a ticket for everything (the lower part of the Alcazaba castle), it's definitely worth it. You can get there by leaving the upper part and going down along the walls.

So beautiful place, with amazing views.. If possible, go with comfortable clothes and sneakers! Or hop on a bus… The climb is a bit steep! The entry is 3,50€ so don't forget to have some coins because they must be put in the machine before you get the ticket. Small price for such a nice peaceful place with a view.

Pretty formidable castle. It's a long walk up the hill before you get in. Lots to see, many walls to walk. The audio guide is nice and informative but the Castillo misses an extensive one. Also I could favor a bit dressing up. All signs and explanations are in Spanish, so I missed detailed information. A multiple language audio guide could help out here.

The view while going up this place it's amazing 🤩🤩🤩 You can see the whole city from above, as well as the sea and harbor. The way up is a little suffocating, mostly if you go in summer, because of the heat. I would recommend wearing sports shoes and comfortable clothes, as well as a hat and taking a bottle of water. Although, you may find some people on the way, who sell bottles of water for 1€. The tickets to go inside the castle cost 3.50€ per person and have different offers, in case you want to visit the other edification next to the castle too. Once inside, there is a little bar, where you can sit and drink something at a very nice terrace with a wonderful view, again. There are restrooms as well. Walking the wall is breathtaking, you can take beautiful pictures all over and contemplate the city.

Really cool and old castle, not a lot to see in my opinion but the views are worth it. You can see the entire city of Malaga and the Mediterranean sea which is nice. Also the entrance is free on Sundays from 2 PM

Beautiful place! Steep walk up alongside the amazing city views. Bring water and sun protection! Just €5,50 for both the monuments. Remains are in really good shape and give you a perfect view of the life back than. We had a nice drink in the bar. Friendly staff and definitely worth a visit when you visit Malaga!

The castle and grounds are very well kept and well worth a visit. The entry price is not expensive with reductions for disabled. The views from the ramparts have steep steps but are stunning. There is a very nice inner courtyard with informative botanical information.

Beautiful old castle, the way up is a bit of an exercise but there is also a bus if you don't want to walk. Stunning views all around over the city and ocean. Free audioguide over a QR code, however, you need to use your data. Would recommend getting a combined ticket with Alcazaba, which is valid for 48hrs.

Beautiful views but lost a star because of the disrespectful treatment from security gate personnel. I am a student (in England) so I attempted to purchase the student rate ticket (€2 less). Security guard asked me if I have student ID and I explained that I’m not a Spanish resident but that I had pictures of my student ID and letters from uni. The guard responded to me in an aggressive, argumentative manner, saying that if I don’t have anything to prove my student status, they couldn’t let me buy that ticket. His demeanour towards me was as if I was a petty thief trying to pilfer €2 out of the establishment’s pocket. It was a prime example of someone bigger trying to assert their authority over a smaller individual. When I showed my student status letter to the guard, he didn’t look at it and instead called over another lady and told me to show it to her (which made me think, why is he fussing over it if he’s not checking my student ID?). This lady goes to the ticket machine and continues the transaction for the student rate. She didn’t even bat an eye at my phone screen and taps away on the ticketing screen. I said, “you haven’t even looked at my student ID”. She replied, “I’ve finished looking at it”. She did not read anything off my phone nor gesture to take my phone and read it. I should note that I do speak Spanish as it is my degree. If you do happen to look like a “foreigner” in the south of Spain, you are going to be spoken to as if you lack some mental capability. On another note, I recommend you hike up there in time for opening at 09.00 AM, to avoid the tourist swarms.

Be prepared for a challenging walk to get to this Castillo particularly on a hot day but definitely worth the walk for the view alone. Very cheap we paid just over 5 euros which gives access to 2 attractions and you download the free audio guide for full information to what you're looking at. It's a must do if you're in Malaga.

Please take the bus :), I didn’t do it and it was bad idea. You but walk to top and sun is shining directly on you. There is no free water. So you can buy it only from guys on the way for 1,5€/0,5L. On top you have nice view on surrounding mountains and city. There is also one building, small museum and also one cafe, so you can refresh there and price is really low, I was expecting higher prices. There is safe so you can drink and enjoying view.

Nice historical landmark to visit. If you walk to the castle from city center that is a long and steep climb up to the top of a hill. You can alternatively take a bus or taxi to top and walk down. The view from top is great. Castle has very nice gardens with old trees inside. Entrance is cheap and there are no lines. The museum inside is very small. However you can spend quite some time in the cafe inside the castle enjoying the gardens and views.

Amazing view in the walking route towards the castle. it is at the peak of the mountain facing the sea. The hike is perfect combination of experiencing beauty and sense of working out. The temperature in February is also perfect for this hike.

We were so tired when we got here after touring 2 museums. The excitement of this area perked us right up! Beautiful scenery, sailboats, yachts, artist market, dining and shopping. A really fun spot to visit.

We stopped overnight at the Port of Malaga on October 17th, 2022. It's a nice walk along the pier to a number of waterfront restaurants, or a quick taxi ride to visit Malaga's historic center where you can get retail therapy, eat to your heart's content and see the Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga.

A great area to explore ways something nautical to observe & much more besides. Bars shop & restaurants line one side of the port. The side nearest the city has nice gardens to stroll through & there is a childrens' play area. Boat trips can be booked as well. This is a good area to walk around away from the bustle of the city.

Malaga is a gorgeous city and the port is no exception. It has a beautiful, modern design with broad, picturesque walk ways lined with restaurants, shops and market stalls to suit all interests. It is vibrant and lively no matter the time or day if the week. Definitely a must visit when you're there.

Worth the walk. With stunning views to go and visit. Many places to eat from and shops to visit. Lovely walk down on a sunny day or none sunny day. Views are beautiful. Would recommend for some time out. A lot of souvenir places near by to shop. Fast food restaurants are in close walk. Highly recommend

One of the better ports I've been to. Not too much walking. Close to the city center, historical attractions and not too far from the airport.

Visited Malaga today to see the Symphony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world and she is beautiful, I couldn’t get right up close but the visit was worth it. Had some lunch and enjoyed sitting in the cafes on the port and in the City Centre. Malaga is a special vibrant city and well worth visiting there is always something to do and see. The shopping in the Port is also very good.

Lovely port for a surprisingly wonderful port city. Yes, it is a long 30 minute walk from the port to the town and parks.... BUT their port is one of the nicest we have seen. Shops, bathrooms, restaurants, art installations, and covered walkways. This was a pleasure to walk through and clearly an attraction for residents AND tourists. This port was a real surprise for us and we strongly recommend you stay in town if you have never been here. Lovely and adorable ancient town with intact walls, gardens, old city center and markets, churches, palaces, and a castle. Almost a fairy tale like town. Save Granada and Cordoba for later and enjoy this great town!

A very wonderful and suggestive place. I really loved the place! It is equally interesting and intriguing in each of its parts. The outside gives you a beautiful view on the city while the internal part is full of cozy and wonderful gardens where to walk and relax immersed in history. Very amazing place

You got to climb a lot at stairs but it is worth it. Wonderful gardens and impressive view points awaits you. Get a cold beer on the top, it’s 2,5 euros and comes with shade and a view.

Very enjoyable visit for just €3.50 with a QR code on display inside the entrance you can access the multilingual audio tour, this makes for an easy 1 hour 30 mins self guided tour of one of Málaga’s dominant historical structures. Free Audio tour is a must to enhance your visit all Complimented by great views of the city and port.

Very interesting palace/fortification built in the years of Muslim occupation in Spain. The beautiful architecture and gardens are well worth the visit. The admission price is insignificant compared to the sights to be seen. Excellently maintained but there is only so much that can be done for accessibility. Lots of steps and some are steep to see everything. Ramp and/or elevator at both entrances.

It was such a wonderful place, with many tour guides hosting groups of people. Remember to bring some headphones that connect to your phone, as they have audio terminals available. I also appreciated their price scaling for situations of importance (lower income, elderly, etc). I went with the regular, measley €5,50 for 48 hours I believe. A fun aside, there was a couple taking their wedding photos there! I completely recommend the visit and you will see Málaga as it was meant to be seen! Also, they have easy to use self help kiosks to buy your tickets. Didn't take long at all.

The Alcazaba of Málaga is a beautiful and historic fortress that offers stunning views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. I highly recommend visiting the Alcazaba, especially on Sundays when it is free to enter from 2pm. The views from the Alcazaba are simply breathtaking. You can see the entire city of Málaga spread out below you, as well as the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. The fortress itself is also very impressive, with its well-preserved walls and towers. I would recommend taking the long walk up to the Alcazaba, as it is well worth it. The walk itself is quite enjoyable, as you pass through narrow streets and alleyways lined with shops and restaurants. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the city and the sea. The Alcazaba is a must-see for anyone visiting Málaga. It is a beautiful and historic place with amazing views. I highly recommend visiting on Sundays when it is free to enter from 2pm. Here are some additional tips for visiting the Alcazaba: * Wear comfortable shoes, as the walk up to the fortress can be quite steep. * Bring water, especially if you are visiting on a hot day. * Be sure to visit the towers for the best views. * Take your time and enjoy the walk through the fortress. * If you are visiting on a Sunday, be sure to arrive early to avoid the crowds.

This is a fantastic place well managed. It's a fresh place with lots of vegetation, beautiful pieces of building and old stones mixed to modern repairs. You can cross road with some squirrels here who are not really afraid if you are calm and gentle. Good photo souvenir.

It is great place to see and visit. Views are stunning and it is totally worth it. There is audio guide which you can connect to with the phone by scanning the QR code. You can really enjoy walking around and exploring and listening to the history. Views are amazing especially if you visit close to sunset. Also there is a bar so you can refresh and make a stop during sightseeing. Definitely worth to explore and you can easily spend half of the day walking around. Tickets can be bought on the machine at the entrance. Can be combined with the Gibralfaro castle visit.

The castle is very impressive and has a very beautiful old architecture.If you walk through the castle with the audio guide, you will learn a lot about the history of the castle but also about Malaga. Once you have made your way to the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. Admission is absolutely worth it and I highly recommend a visit.

Very nice and well preserved fortress. Really pretty architecture and it wasn't too busy on a friday morning. Nice cafe to the side of the fortress too. You can buy tickets at the door via a ticket machine.

Not really authentic. Most buildings were lost to time, replaced by houses, and rebuilt to (what they taught was) the original shape only recently. And the views are obviously not as good as from the upper Gibralfaro castle. But it's so cheap, and the audio guide is full of nice historical information, it's still worth the visit. Nice castle to visit. Went on a "small group tour" from our cruise ship. When we got to the castle it was very crowded. The structure is in good shape and it is worth seeing. There is not a lot of information or historical pieces to see there.

Fantastic, if very touristy, site that is super cheap to enter. I didn’t get the audioguide (virtual only so you’re SOL if you have no data on your phone, or like me, it just didn’t connect). I still enjoyed regardless walking around the structures and the gorgeous views from the ramparts. Spent about an hour. Buy a ticket online to cut the queue.

Really interesting and inspiring place to visit. Interesting both for adults and children and teens. We’ve visited only one (lower level) part of the castle and spent there about 2 hours. Incredible views are opened up from this castle.

Interesting and inexpensive if combined with the castle. Only issue is that there should be an exit to continue on to the castle and not go all the way back down to go back up. Well preserved and great views

Very fun place to visit and less busy than expected. Very peaceful place with good views for those who don't want to climb up to the castle (Very tiring in the heat). Price of entry (2,50 € for both venues for students) was an absolute bargain.

Beautiful place all the buildings are well preserved except for the exterior walls but its normal. The views are amazing and breathtaking. All the plants are vibrantly green and amazing, a lot of the flowers have a very pleasant smell also. The pigeons are cute and pretty, and somehow there is not a lot of waste from them which is good. You need to get ready for a lot of walking, but it's definitely worth it.

It was easy to buy tickets on arrival. There are various concessions, plus they also have free days on the weekend. There are plenty of steps and uphill walk so be prepared. Beautiful inside. So much history. And there is also a lift on the road which is at the side of the ramp. It is signposted. Tickets are also available at the lift entrance so need to climb up to the main entrance, buy tickets and walk all the down and to the side to get the lift.

Impressive old castle in a very good condition. For 5.5 euro you can by directly a combo ticket which is valid for the whole complex. No need for reservation in advance. Audio guide is available in different languages directly through a QR Code.

Castle is pretty nice but prepare your feet’s:). There is many stairs and also you must walk up to hill. But there is so many nice spots to have nice pictures. Thera are nice gardens with fountains and water strings. Enjoy your stay a relax in gardens or inside house to get more energy.

A tremendous evocation of what the original fort/palace must have been like (I understand that it is partially restored). The palatial elements at the top of the hill (beautiful courtyards with pools and planting) contrast with the fort-like elements lower down. Great views of the city, port and mountains all round. We took the lift to the top (from around the side) and worked our way down. A beautifully sited cafe/bar quite close to the main gatehouse (again with great views). The combined admission price with the Gibralfaro castle (€5.50) is a steal!

Cool, but I agree that if you have been to the Alhambra it won't wow you the same way. You can walk up the back road for free if the views are what you're after - and they are beautiful. However I think it would've been better if I'd gotten a guide or an audio tour, so that may be my fault. :)

Visiting the castle was nothing short of enchanting. The grandeur of its towering walls and the rich history embedded in every stone made for a captivating journey through time. The breathtaking panoramic views from the castle grounds were a highlight, offering a glimpse into a bygone era. Impeccably preserved, the castle exudes a sense of mystery and majesty. A truly awe-inspiring experience that transports you to a world of medieval splendor.

Great views, vendors with food or jewellery located around the castle but you need to prepare your feet because it's a very long walk I would really recommend not having a heavy bag/backpack because it's going to weigh you down and make the walk very uncomfortable if you walk the whole distance but if you walk a short distance it's ok, the seagulls are alright with you taking photos of them they might glance at you strangely ( like I've captured in the photos) but apart from that they are chill Thank you for reading this review I appreciate it

Alcazaba with the roman theater is a perfect place to walk around in February. The weather was amazing with stunning view. They have free audio guide for the people with interest in history and architecture. At the top of this place they have the palace now converted to a museum. Overall takes 2-3 hours to walk around the places.

Very cool historical site with gorgeous views of city and interesting architecture. Scan the free audio tour with €3.50 ticket price to enhance the experience. Afterwards, walk up the path beside the Alcazaba to see the castle but I don’t recommend buying an entrance ticket as much of the castle wall walks were closed and you get same views on the walk up. Toilets are onsite. BONUS: the Alcazaba has a very cute pizzeria on site to enjoy with sweeping city views.

Amazing experience. I went on a solo trip and I had a great time! Better if you bring a selfie stick 😁 I was surprised to see that it was a free entry (I went on a Sunday in January). The weather was just so nice, maybe avoid going during the summer as you will have to walk and climb up to the top.

Visited in April and it was pretty busy. Very nice historical place. Has multiple indoor expositions of artifacts, a beautiful walk around the gardens and premises and lovely sights of the city below. For me it was worth the walk up.You can buy tickets to visit both Alcazaba and Gibralfaro at the start, or buy separate tickets at the entrance to Gibralfaro. Paid 5.5 euro/adult for Alcazaba+Gibralfaro, was free for our 5 y.o.

A beautiful museum with lots of art from Pablo Picasso. Recommend to buy the tickets before due to long waiting time. Biggest pieces from Picasso are here in the museum. But the museum could be a bit bigger. Audio guide is included and in many languages available.

For any art lover, I would totally recommend this place. The way they have designed the exhibitions and the house selected tell a good story of Picasso life. And the world knows Picasso mostly for his cubist paintings, but I was really enchanted by his sculpture work, specially with metal. It was good. Recommend to take a ticket online (there’s a separate but very long queues) and they don’t allow water from outside, which is fair. But they should provide some water. The museum cafe is a joke with 500 ml bottle for 2 Euros.

Great experience, an interesting museum, a must visit for all art lovers. Located in a palace from 16th century in the middle of the Old town. Collection offers good insight into Picasso's evolution. Housed in an old palace in the old town. A relatively small collection of works that were bequeathed by Picasso's daughter in law. Mostly minor pieces from each stage of Picasso's development, though with a strong selection of late paintings from the 50s and 60s. Not in the same league as the phenomenal collections in Paris and Barcelona, but worth a visit if you have a spare hour. Recommend buying an advance ticket online to skip the queues...

Booked on line, had to queue as we got there 20 minutes early. On line queue was shorter than those buying the ticket on the day. We did get in at the allocated time. Free audio guide. Fantastic building and setting for a museum. 19 euro for 2 people. We are not big art lovers, but we did enjoy the Picasso Museum in his home town. Don't forget you can also visit his birth place which is only a few minutes walk away from the museum(3 euro entry)

Let’s start with the most important. Picasso exhibition was (temporarily) closed during out visit! So we were able just to see a few of Picasso’s pictures. This is a reason for 3 stars only. Otherwise I would rate with 5*. We really liked the museum built nicely into an anciant house. The exhibition area is spaceous, clean and well-lighted. Unfortunately, we could see mostly pieces of art inspirated by Picass, as the permanet exhibition was closed due to reconstruction. There is also a coffeshop, garden and 2 shops with books and souveniers. Downstairs you can see ancient ruins. The toillets are downstairs as well. We were lucky to visit the museum during the bank holiday for free (and you can probably do it also on Sundays afternoons). If you decide to pay for the ticket check first if the Picasso permanent exhibition is reopened. You hato to store your baggage in the lockers (for free). Free wifi available. No restrictions to taking photos.

🇨🇦 review here. This was a must see for me but I only arrived in the last hour it was open. It’s not a bit exhibit so that was enough time. I was lucky that it wasn’t busy so there was lots of space between people but there is nowhere to sit so prepare to stand all the time. You can get very very close to the paintings which is nice. The audio guide on your phone (with wifi) is great. There is an amazing sculpture where you can see Picasso’s fingerprints!

Once in Malaga, you need to visit this Museum which covers the whole spectrum of creation of Pablo Picasso. Impressive setting and magnificent works of art. During high season period, you may encounter some waiting in line in order to enter. But you will be fully compensated by the remarkable feeling this place has to offer.

A famous museum for the artist, Pablo Picasso, who was born in Malaga. The museum is well-kept and clean. However, it was extremely crowded with crowd control in almost every gallery. Exhibits are also a bit confusing in terms of linear order. Too many students are here being rowdy and just disrupting the space on a weekday. For the price (with audio guide), it is just a bit of a shame. The place is nice to visit but you won’t suffer if you miss it.

Gorgeous museum in an old palace. That said, most of the more popular paintings are held in other museums. This museum talks to you about Picasso’s story and legacy, with what feels like more artwork by others that were inspired by him than by the man himself. There is a curious area, “archeology”, where you get to see some ruins under the museum. Giving it 4 stars as there wasn’t as much Picasso as you’d expect from his museum.

One hears the Picasso name and instantly associates him with art. I can't say I fully know and appreciate his work, but it was until today's visit, that I was positive overall about some of his colourful abstract pieces. However, this visit to the Picasso Museum has made me decide that I DON'T actually like his works. I am sure he has his fans, but I find his pieces vulgar, aesthetically unpleasant, and uninteresting. Some of his art is not suitable for under 12s in my view. The museum venue itself is quite classy, but the outside queues are typically long. The rooms could be confusing for some people, and there seems to be a lack of a system to progress from one place to another in a logical manner. For me, the large crowds and queues are a case of the "Picasso brand" attracting the mainstream - but in the end, I found this visit a very damp squid experience and rather tasteless. It did nothing for me personally.

The museum has a cafe and a couple of souvenir shops

Great place to spend time getting to know ancient history of the region. The museum has several floors. Each floor with a different exhibition. Mostly I enjoyed archeology. Though the third floor and terrace was close during my visit. I recommend the place for people seeking to know the history of the region better.

This is one of the most impressive cathedrals I have seen in Europe. The cost to get in was €8 for the main building and another €4 if you wanted to do the roof top walk. The size and opulence of this place is truly amazing. There is an audio guide for your phone you get as part of the entrance fee, so I would advise bringing headphones for your phone. While it can seem like all the churches and cathedrals blend into one another when traveling Europe, this one stands out due to the star size and beauty. The audio tour was well done and it will take you about 1.5 hours. All in all a great spot.

Beautiful architecture but lackluster overall. Price - Too much for such a short experience, as you could experience most of it in a very short ammount of time. Atmosphere- Actually very nice atmosphere. Translation or other aid - Functional, but wish it was preprogrammed into automatically play as you go. Ended up not using it after only a few tries. Overall a beautiful location to visit, but be aware the price isn’t the best, and there are multiple other locations that offer more value for it’s price.

🇨🇦 review here. Happened by this Cathedral and there was no line so I went in not even knowing what it was. WOW what a place. They have an absolutely excellent audio guide for free (with wifi) on your phone. Great explanations. Lots of places to sit while listening. It wasn’t busy so there was lots of space when I was there on a Wednesday midday. I recommend it for the low entry fee.

Does it make the top 10 list of cathedrals? Probably not. Is it worth paying the entrance fee? Probably if you combine it with the tower option which gives great views over the city. There's a free audio guide you can upload onto your phone with a QR code which also helps add some meaning. However from the outside it is an imposing structure and gives some great photo options both during the day and at night. There are a couple of restaurants and bars in the square facing the front which make a great spot to enjoy the view and a glass of wine in the evening.

Beautiful and impressive cathedral from in an outside. You should buy the ticket for inside (8€) and rooftop (4€), really worth to see both. The rooftop (200 stairs) has a beautiful view all over the city. Please inform yourself for the entry times of the rooftop, early afternoon its may not accessible because of the heat outside. Fabiola took us to the roof, she was really nice and exuded positive energy with her smile. Thank you very much Fabiola.

This a very grand building, it's worth the visit just to observe the sheer size of it. The craftsmanship it a thing to behold and it has a layout quite different to many of the Cathedrals I've visited in the past. We arrived late in the day so there were no queues as such. We also didn't go to the roof but it's reccomend if you have the time and don't mind heights. Over all very impressive!

Beautiful view from the roof about entire Malaga could even be more beautiful then the Cathedral inside. It's a lot of stairs bro get up but the view is stunning. We did the last tour of the day and it gives a nice play of sunset colours as well.

The inside is as impressive as the outside. Definitely worth it. Be sure to buy a ticket that includes access to the tower! The views are great. The personnel speaks English very well so communication shouldn't be a problem. P.S. Whoever tells you there are 200 steps to the rooftop is lying. There are 183 😂

Beautiful Cathedral.  We stayed for mass to get the full experience.  The church closes when mass is in progress.  One of the exterior characteristics is that one of the bell towers was never completed.  You can see the unfinished tower in pictures.  The interior is gorgeous and cavernous.  Worth the time.

The main sight in Malaga. An impressive and beautiful cathedral, inside and out. As it took over 250 years to build (from 1528 to 1782), you'll see a mix of different architectural styles, mostly Renaissance and Baroque. Construction slowed down because funds were rerouted to support the US war of Independence. To this day, the second tower remains unbuilt, which gave the church the nickname "The One-armed Lady". Two impressive organs. Entry for adults is €8, which contributes towards restoration. Waiting time was 5-10min. Free audio guide. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. Optionally, you can also buy tickets to visit the rooftop.to get great views of the city.

10€ for a Cathedral. Was it impressive as the ceiling is very high? Yes. Does that makes it worth it? No. I personally would say, try to go during free hours before the mass or skip it, you aint missing much really.

Beautiful cathedral! It's 8 euros but worth it. It comes with an audio guide. Local people have discounts without it somehow. It was raining so I didn't do the roof (cubiertos) tour. My visit was on normal Monday afternoon with rain.... no reservation but only a couple of minutes wait to go inside. Recommend.

Great museum in the middle of Malaga old town (Would consider it more an art gallery than a museum). Lovely collection of artworks beautifully presented. There is a delightful terrace courtyard on ones of the rooftops with views of the skyline. Fabulous gift shop with some beautiful items- is worth a visit even if not going to the gallery itself

Got to enter for free after 4pm today (Sunday) and saw a beautiful exhibit. Unfortunately, only the permanent exhibit was available for viewing - definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area :)

Of course, as expected after visiting the Madrid branch, a very serious collection of art, well curated and fascinating. A vast collection of Spanish art of Spanish themes, but not only. The main exhibition is 3 floors from the collection, in more or less permanent curations, probably with slight changes. 4th floor has a changing exhibition, currently about Belgian art, was very cute and educational. OK entrance price at 10€, 1h-1,5h enough. Nice shop at the entrance with posters etc. Very much recommend!

This is a good place to visit in central Malaga if you're interested in Spanish art. Worth the €11 entry fee for an hour or two of browsing the 4 floors. Best to start at the top and work down. Great examples at the time of writing of impressionist, figurative, cubist and modernist works, including some well known artists like Picasso. Lovely art space and spotless washrooms, plus an exceptional shop on the way out if you fancy a memento of your visit.

A lovely museum with a wide range of Spanish art and more. The staff are kind and the entire facility is quiet and beautifully appointed. It’s centrally located directly off the Plaza de la Constitución with not an overwhelmingly large collection, which is well appreciated among European museums. I, an American, saw some stunning pieces from well-respected Spanish artists who I had never heard of before, which was exciting and special. I found it to be a delightful tribute to Andaluz art and artists. A highly recommended visit while in Málaga !

Went on a weekday so there was not too many people. Just after the entrance there is lockers where you can leave luggage you might not want to carry around with you - it was €1 and after you can take your money back. Visited primary because of the pieces of René Magritte and Paul Delvaux that i found quite intriguing to see in originals. It isn’t a huge museum but the pieces are arranged well to enjoy them.

The event was stunning it was in a beautiful location transporting you to a very stripped back easy to focus Moorish location. The seating and mood were comfortable and the musicians were on top form, the musical acoustics were well thought and performed to the highest quality. I will be returning for more experiences like this in future.

Not my favourite museum of all time but there are some lovely art pieces here of traditional Andalucían scenes with wonderful local constumry. The “masters” room is tiny and not that impressive save for one gorgeous “portrait” painting (in my view!) The more modern pieces from the early 20th century are striking. Enjoyed the Da Ribeira collection on the ground floor. Was able to enter for free a journalist but not sure if worth the high entry fee.

Loved this cosy museum, great Spanish art overview, interesting temporary exhibition housed in a beautiful building. Lovely outdoor terrace off 3rd floor presented sunset sky over Malaga rooftops.

Exceeded my expectations. I arrived 10min before 4pm when the free entrance started and I could go in as soon as the clock ticks 4. Lots of oil paintings about normal life and religious ones. Recommended.

Very well curated displays of mainly nineteenth century Spanish art. Well worth the visit and no queues.

Great collection of Spanish art. We went during their baroque expo, so it was great to see the religious dark side of art juxtaposed to the lighter, fairs and party depictions on other floors. It provided a complete picture on the culture, background and landscapes to Spain. Must see!

Very interesting permanent collection but also we were luvky to see the Latent modernity expo on Spanish 20th century works, during the dictatorship, that interrupted Spanish art.

€3 entry fees, you can pay by cash or cards/Apple Pay. It’s a very Beautiful monument and there is also parking. We went from Málaga by train then you can walk a little up the hill or take a bus or taxi. There is a beautiful garden with a view of the sea. The most important thing is that you can walk almost anywhere inside the monument. We visited in early December 2022, it’s still nice weather compared to London 😂

Even though I have my own opinions on Christopher Columbus, I gotta admit the architecture of this monument is beautiful. There is so much attention to detail, and the whole area available to roam, even though smaller than I expected, is packed full of detail and information about individual parts of the architecture. This is a must if you are in Benalmadena, for the price (3€ for adults), it is definitely worth it.

A must see when near Málaga! It is definitely worth a visit. You can buy tickets directly there and there was one couple in front of us. The entrance fee is € 3.00 and it is so worth. There are 16 QR codes where you can read about the whole monument. The monument is dedicated to Christoph Columbus and built by Dr. Martín in the 1980s and 90s with only two other workers. There is a little coffee shop next to it and it sells the best coffee ever! All in all I can highly recommend visiting this place, such an amazing experience and every stone is made unique.

Enjoyable walk for I would suggest no more than a hour. The site itself is small and has no catering facilities apart from a vending machine. It has two outside toilets that were maintained well and free wi-fi throughout the site. The building itself is beautiful you will take many photographs. It is quite far too walk to on a big hill so I would advise against getting public transport as it doesn't stop best the site. I would recommend

Opens at 10am, 3 euro entry, it's well worth it! Spectacular Monument. It gets very busy, be good if they could restrict the number of people they allow in at one time as its very difficult to get photos and see around due to the crowds but 100% recommend going to see it.

For only 3€ you get to see lovely castles. You even get a little paper with explanations about what you get to see and these are available in many languages. For only 3€ you just can't go wrong with stopping by during your hike in this beautiful region.

Colomares Monument is a stunning structure dedicated to Christopher Columbus and his voyages. It captivated us with its architecture and rich symbolism. Beautiful sculptures and reliefs depicting Columbus's life add a special charm. The gardens and fountains, along with the view of the coastline, are breathtaking. Exploring the monument and taking photographs were enjoyable. Informational plaques and guides provided interesting historical insights. We highly recommend Colomares to anyone interested in history, architecture, and a beautiful experience.

Very authentic monument, pretty small, but you can spend around an hour or two by admiring it there. You will receive a guide on paper when entering, we got one in CZ language but it was not very explanatory, more like using an online translator without the text about what we see, just what it is. There is a small coffee place where you can sit and enjoy the view. Very beautiful place.

It’s an interesting place tucked away in Benalmádena. Much smaller than I expected from pictures. Interesting, I’m glad it had a story to follow (by scanning QR codes) about Christopher Columbus and about this monument being built. It’s intricate and beautiful as a work of art. Beautiful views of the sea. I’m glad we went since we live about 20 minutes away, but I’m not sure I’d tell anyone to go out of their way to get here. It was worth the 3€ and about 45 minutes that we spent there. There’s a nice little bar area with drinks (maybe food?) to sit and chat when the weather is nice. We went on a Thursday and it wasn’t crowded at all, we parked just before the entrance in a gravel lot. If you happen to be nearby, it’s worth a stop.

Definitely worth the journey although very steep hills to get here, so maybe walking isn't the best option. Absolute bargain to get in and explore, fantastic history behind it all. The accommodations for linguistic differences are a welcoming and inviting touch. Worthwhile visiting here for sure.

We went here during the off-season in December. It was not busy at all, which was nice. I don't know if I would've enjoyed it much in summer when it is probably swarming with tourists, since the area and castle are not super big. You can pretty much see it all in 30/40 minutes. But it helped that there weren't loads of people walking around when I was there, because don't you hate it when you wanna take a nice building photo and there are like 20 strangers standing in front of your photo?! ;) Well you get my point I suppose. It's a nice replica to see, there is a lot of nice detail to see in the castle. If you're in the area and have an hour or so to spare, go check it out :)

Cheap and unique sightseeing. Pretty small territory. Nice free guide on the entrance with many available languages. Nice view on the sea, However, all inner part of the movement is not allowed to enter. Why? It would be the best part of the experience.

Wow cannot believe I have had a property on this coast for 19 years and never been here . Stunning place , not well advertised enough in my opinion and they could make more of it by selling drinks and snacks. Only costs 3 euros to get in, and it's worth it for the stunning architecture. This is the place to just kill an hour, not worth a full day, but worth a visit

An astonishing small castle with a one of a kind architecture; it has a very interesting history and idea behind it. Entrance is 3€ for adults, 2€ for kids. We came by train from Malaga and from the station by foot but one can reach the castle directly with the car as there are some parking spaces right at the entrance, free of charge. In the castle yard one cand also find a bar and toiletts.

This is literally the most beautiful castle /monument I have ever seen in my life 😍 What a beautiful place! Every single details, every angle, the seaview... This is just amazing. If you re in the area, it worth the visit!

Knowing the context of its history is making you appreciating the monument as it is, as a one man-project. Eclectic and kitch, and you can actually only visit it from exterior with pretty limited access to its terraces and nothing to its interior. For the view, some photos, and low entry fee, may worth a visit. Check on opening hours!

Been meaning to stop here for a while, it stands out like an out of this world place, and it surely delivers. Fun to visit with kids, and it's hard to leave without taking a million pictures from all angles, we were likely the last ones out that day.

A wonderful place. I recommend visiting it! I arrived with bus 121 and I left with number 126. Both get you close to butterflies. From many species of butterflies, to multicolored fish, a baby kangaroo, turtles and two birds, a parrot and another bird. But what delights you the most are the reproductive stages of butterflies and the fact that they fly by you. A butterfly even landed on my finger, it was a unique feeling. If I have the opportunity to come again in this life, I will definitely come back with love!

We had a lovely time exploring this place. We got the taxi up to this venue and saw a beautiful Thai-inspired palace overlooking a Buddha shrine which was just glorious in itself. We booked our tickets online and went inside the place and it was very humid and warm. If you're looking to browse then you're fine but if you like me and like to take pictures then you should be warned that phones can overheat. I didn't know that until I was on there and my phone kept overheating! But plenty of butterflies and wonderful scenery. I kept repeating my route over and over because there was always something new to spot, it was so exciting and some of the butterflies I hadn't seen before. It was such a nice experience and I would happily go again. All had great wheelchair accessibility except for the stairs with the butterflies but you're not missing out on much so you're fine. Many thanks for a great time, definitely something to remember.

The atmosphere was right on! Calming music, butterflies flying by and had a buddy that landed on my shoulder for most of the walk. He was so cozy that he went for a nap. I recommend this place for being more than just a butterfly farm, with impressive rare species, but also having a few more friendly animals which are not kept in cages - they are just hanging around and quite friendly!

Arrived at 10:30am on Saturday almost as soon as it opened. Already people inside but no wait! They give you a paper with the different butterflies to find so you can see which ones you saw. A guide will do a presentation every hour, when inside you will hear a bell meaning it started. I spent a good 30minutes exploring. It’s a small place but so much to see!

Lovely couple of hours set in beautiful tropical house, nature running free how it should be, interesting talk on butterflies in Spanish and English. Smaller than expected however it was a fantastic experience. We got a train from malaga central and then a €8 taxi up (got bus back down). Beautiful butterflies everywhere, a pond with fish and even a wallaby. We saw a butterfly emerge from its cocoon too! Definitely recommend. so

The animals (3 tortoises and a little marsupial - a rescue) were very well taken care of and there were signs forbidding people from touching them as they did roam freely in the garden area. Had a wonderful time here with very young children who were mesmerised by the butterflies and birds. It's not very big in size, but it is most certainly packed with life and fun for the little ones. Very beautiful ancient fort. Open to the public, free entrance & a beautiful view. The hill where it’s situated is makes a nice walk up to the fort & is filled with flowers in the spring. In the park there’s ongoing archaeological excavations of a Roman fisherman’s huts. The beach close to the Castillo Sohail is also very nice 👌🏼

An absolutely beautiful zoo, well worth the visit. Plenty of animals in beautiful, spacious surroundings. The zoo isn't large, but you can easily spend 2 - 3 hours in here. Plenty variation of animals (birds, gorillas, tigers, monkeys, hippos etc.) in lovely surroundings. Good facilities and you can bring your own food and drinks into the zoo. It never felt too busy and we really like the animal enclosures. It just felt really peaceful. There also was plenty of shade in the zoo, necessary when it gets very warm. Parking is available in the parking garages next and opposite the zoo and you get a 50% discount when you validate your ticket on exit of the zoo. We paid 3 euros for a 3 hour visit. Book online and check Groupon Spain as they sometimes have discounts. Definitely worth a visit!

The best zoo I've ever been to! The animals have plenty of space and hiding spots, but they're easy to spot. Even walking around the zoo is a big part of the experience, such beautiful plants and decorations. We were lucky to find coupons so the entries were only 15€ pr. person, super cheap.

First time here was 2008. Now the 2nd time here with kids. They loved it and so did I. I even saved around 20€ with a promo poster I found on the door of a nearby store. I just had to take a photo of it and show it at the cashier's. I think the place is well designed for the amount and comfort of the animals. The grounds and details were spot-on. Some seemed a bit stressed but it's understandable.

Very nice! A bit expensive for a zoo but you can find discount vouchers here from leaflets and stores so you don’t have to pay full price. 25€/ adult or 18€ / pensioner or child. Animals were mostly sleeping in the shadows but its understandable because of the heat. Nice experience and very well taken care of park. Really good afternoon out did cost a bit much to go in about 85 Euros for a family of 4 but lots of animals inside. We saw crocodiles, hippos, flamingos,tigers,gorillas and lots more. They show was great kids loved the birds flying over their heads. Great park but the gorillas were their fave the baby interacting by the viewing window made their day

A great zoo experience with interesting animals. The zoo was tidy and there was no limit on how long you could spend there so you wouldn’t feel as if you were being rushed. They had lemurs and birds able to roam free and come up to you which was really cool definitely would recommend a visit

I am not a fan of animals in captivity, however, this was an excellent experience with magnificent buildings and well maintained public and animal enclosures. The entire concept was brilliant. Lovely cafeteria with plenty of seating, and what appeared to be a restaurant. I, along with my daughter and another family member spent four hours there. Easy underground parking within metres. The discount coupon made the parking pleasantly cheap. I highly recommend this place, and it is a wonderful day out. I would go again at a moments notice.

I’ve visited loads of zoos across the UK, this was up there with one of the best I’ve visited. It is a small zoo, having a good look at all the animals we spent 3 hours and saw everything (except the shy leopard) The enclosures are very well designed, several species share the same space to make for a very natural experience. It was a beautifully presented zoo. Very clean and every enclosure had shade, trees and water, some with waterfalls, the sound would help to reduce the noise of the visitors for the animals. A small area where you could walk thru the Lemur enclosure. My only concern was the tigers and apes didn't have a larger area to run around in.

Amazing place , yes it isn't massive ,but the variety of Rare animals will leave you speechless. I have always dreamed of seeing Arapaimas , or Cassowaries and guess what , they have them out there ! On top of that Gorillas , Orangutans , Chimps , Tigers and a real Komodo Dragon. Lemurs watching at 11am daily , is a must see , as they are so funny and charming. The kids were very happy, and amazed. It's a really lovely charming place , The coffee in the restaurant tastes great , and the toilet's facilities are clean and modern. Also the location of this garden in the centre of Fuengirola,makes it easy to access , it's open from 10am and you will need about a half a day to view it all and you still manage to hit your dinner in the hotel at 3pm :). Definitely a experience not to be missed. Sue and Darren's expert knowledge of the surrounding areas coupled with their friendly and relaxed approach make these quad bike tours something to remember. Your safety is at the forefront at all times but not to the detrement of enjoying the amazing quad bikes, which after a quick but thorough tutorial, you're in total control of. Once you set off and your off of the main roads the tour really comes into it's own, taking in the stunning views of the mountains and lakes and really experiencing rural Andalusia. Cannot be recommend highly enough.

This was one of the best tours I ever did. First getting comfortable ont the quadbike on own terrain and after that we hit the road. Susan is realky friendly and knows a lot about the surrounding archtecture, geography and wildlife. The surrounding is beautifull!!! I would highly reccomend this tour.

I spent one week cycling in Ronda with ACE in September 2022. It’s an amazing experience: beautiful landscape, smooth paved roads with rolling hills and climbs, white villages in mountains and valleys, olive and chestnuts groves, national parks covered with acorn trees, AND kind and patient drivers who respect cyclists! Communication with Ashley of ACE was easy and effective. Drew, the guide, was fun to ride with - I just wished I could climb as well as him!! Accommodation in Ronda is centrally located and convenient for everything needed by a traveller. Highly recommended for anyone who loves cycling!

I had a great week with Andalucian Cycling Experience. Decent hotel (hotel Polo) with very friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet. Road biked for 4-6 hours every day in mid-March 2024 doing up to 96km and up to 2,000 meter of elevation gain. Definitely challenged my abilities at 60 years old. Beautiful landscape and villages, great routes and Ashley, Drew and the rest of the team did an excellent job organizing and guiding us. The rental bike was great. I highly recommend ACE and will for sure return.

Ashley and the team are just brilliant. They organised the whole thing for us - transfers, accommodation, bike routes, and even restaurant recommendations in Ronda. Cycling with Ashley was great - he’s super fast up and down those mountains but he never abandons you. As someone who has never cycled abroad, much less up mountains, I felt very looked after and climbing Las Palomas a personal achievement. Can’t wait to rebook!

We just finished a wonderful cycling adventure with Andalucian Cycling Adventures(ACE) through the Andalucian “white villages”. Great new bikes, fitted before we started, carried us along challenging, yet stunningly beautiful, planned routes on our self-guided tour. The hotels were excellent and accented by proprietor-operated personal attention. Generous breakfasts, cultural stops and info about where to dine was all part of the package. We’re coming back and highly recommend this operator.

What a great holiday, I took my grown up daughter on a 6 day trip with Andalusian Cycling Experience. The trip was very well organised; Ashley, the owner, arranged our itinerary to suit our needs. The transfer from the airport to Ronda was on time and Drew from ACE gave us lots of information. The bikes were new, and set up ready for us, one hybrid and one electric. We had chosen the White Village Tour, going from village to village with our bags transported each day. The bags arrived at each hotel before us and the directions for each day were absolutely spot on, easy to follow and very detailed. The directions also mention places to stop en route, favourite cafes, and tapas bars. Each day the route was on very quiet roads with hardly any traffic, great views and superb surfaces. The few cars that did pass were very considerate and gave a wide berth, better than any other location I have cycled. My daughter had not cycled much, and the electric bike was perfect, she could ascend all the hills without trouble. My bike had a massive range of gears and performed impeccably. We had chosen to upgrade our Ronda hotel at the start and finish of the holiday, this was excellent, great swimming pool, super views and great staff. A wonderful holiday, and I thoroughly recommend Andalusian Cycling Experience. Thank you Ashley, Drew and Claire.

I've just had a brilliant week in Portugal with Andalucian Cycling Experience. The cycling was excellent with a variety of rides, all tailored to what suited our group. Our guides, Ashley and Drew, were very flexible and supportive. The accommodation was very good, located next to a wonderful sandy beach with fantastic sunsets, and my fellow cyclists were all great company. All in all, a fabulous holiday!

Everything about my holiday with ACE was five stars, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great cycling experience. This was my first cycling holiday as I am new to road cycling. Ashley and Drew were extremely helpful and supportive. They orangised the cycles each day based on my abilities and went out of their way to ensure I was having a great experience. They cater for everyone so if you are looking for an active holiday on two wheels in beautiful scenery then ACE is perfect for you. I stayed in Hotel San Francisco which was perfect - great breakfast and wonderful location. Ronda is a great spot to be based - lovely food and lots of things to see/do. Really good value for money too. Can't wait for my next trip back!

Outstanding Rental! I've been working in the cycling industry for ten years so I feel as though I can tell a great shop apart from others. This is one of those great shops, as well as some of the best roads I've ever ridden. The bike I rented was perfect and the ride recommendation was no different.

Fabulous time cycling. My wife and I had a great two weeks with Ashley and Drew at Andalucian Cycling Experience. They took fantastic care of us. Some days we rode with the group and other days they gave us GPX routes. They gave us structure when we wanted it and an opportunity to explore when we wanted that. All the rides were beautiful, fantastic roads, well curated and well thought out. They provided short and long options. Very responsive. Set us up with a great hotel (Catalonia Reina Victoria in Ronda) and made our trip outstanding. Really liked Ronda as a location to be based, the drivers are courteous, and the roads are amazing. I would recommend without hesitation.

I had an amazing week's road cycling around Ronda with ACE. My whole trip was well organised so communication, transfers and accommodation were all excellent and I was well supported by my guide Drew who ensured I got the most out of my week. Stunning scenery, great roads and wonderful coffee stops. I can really recommend ACE and hope to return.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ashley & Clare. They did an amazing job putting together a three & a half week custom, self guided road cycling tour for us. Communication was always prompt. Bikes were in excellent condition. The routes were easy to follow. I always felt safe. I had a long list of what we wanted & did not want - ACE delivered. I have now cycled in 29 countries & this trip is certainly in the top 3.

Me and a friend had an incredible week cycling with Andalucian Cycling Experience. The routes picked out by Ashley and the team were amazing. Accomodation was also great. We travelled with our bikes but next time we would probably rent from ACE. Honestly cannot reccomend enough!

I had a fantastic experience with Andalucian Cycling Experience. I am an amateur road racer in the US and wanted a week of training before the spring season to improve my endurance and climbing skills (and of course to ride in gorgeous southern Spain). I rode with Andalucian Cycling for one week with Ashley. There were three other riders who signed up that week and we were able to choose from two pace groups each day. Ashley took us on a different route every day with lengths around 80-100 km and provided a great pace that wasn't too aggressive but also challenged us (he is an incredible cyclist who seems to never get tired!). We had one rest day in the middle of the week and all of the rides included at least one coffee / toast stop. I had such a great time on this week of riding and felt like it helped me become a stronger rider, especially on long climbs. I rented a Wilier road bike, which was comfortable and fast. Ashley also set me up with housing in Ronda, which was a beautiful, newly-renovated apartment within walking distance of the historic core of Ronda. Ronda is such a lovely town to stay in and has great food options, beautiful surroundings and few tourists (at least in the winter). I will absolutely return to ride with Andalucian Cycling Experience again and 100% recommend it to other cyclists who are looking to enjoy beautiful scenic rides, improve their fitness and become stronger racers.

I've almost finished a perfect week's Gravel biking in Ronda. I'd recommend this family firm who are professional and can tailor the distance to your needs. The transfer to and from Malaga airport was seamless, the accommodation was clean modern and only a 5 minute walk from the bike shop. And the rides and gravel were great!

Cycled with Ash and Drew in the Algarve, Portugal last week. Great trip through our cycling club (TCR). Happy with the routes, coffee stops, top notch rental and all. We had a 55 km group and 80+ km group.

This was our first cycling holiday but won't be our last. We went on the leisure cycling experience in a small group of 6. Ashley was a perfect guide, responsive and very helpful and accommodating. We both started on hybrid bikes but my wife was able to upgrade to an e-bike for 3 days. Some of the cycle rides were to and from Ronda but we also got taken a bit further by van to get out into some beautiful countryside and mountain villages. The accommodation was perfect for us at the hotel San Francisco with a comfortable bed, a hearty breakfast to start the day and a sunny roof terrace to relax on at the end of the day. Thanks Ashley and Claire for arranging an amazing holiday!

Service from one of the men was absolutely shocking as all of our group is eating in this restaurant except one and he has very rudely asked us to not drink a coffee in the Bar !! this is absolutely shocking as i men’s who has any problem with the coffee but apparently this person has !! service from a lady here was excellent and she is very polite and helpful

Saturday morning getting up late I hoped on a taxi and for 29 euro(tip included) I reached Setenil de las Bodegas. I won’t dwell on this little place too much because I am planning to write an article at the end of the series mentioning all those places I found wonderful in my trip. However I will stop and write a short review for Bar la Escueva, a place I took a small meal in on a busy Saturday week. The bar is big, well at least comparing to those from Ronda and I can honestly say that I think it is about the same size as all three places I tried in Ronda. Plus a couple of tables outside so yes, it is big. The prices are a bit higher than in Ronda but even though I ate just a small meal I can honestly say that the food was good. The liver pate, the bread and jamon blended wonderfully and this was one of the nicest surprises from my trip even though it was just a simple, small meal

My wife and I decided to try a few different things. My wife is Spanish and I am not. We mostly speak in English out in Spain. We ordered a bottle of water, tomatoes with tuna, the seafood skewer; which was amazing and the croquettes. It was 40 Euros which was well worth the price for the quality and service. I recommend this place if you want some tasty food.

Too bad didn't stayed here and went for the neighboring place which eventually disappointed us. In La Escueva you must try a salad with their organic pink tomatoes - they are good in the north of Andalusia.

I cannot give more stars for food. There was nothing special & even the french fries were not well fried. But the atmosphere & the staffs were so nice. ;)

Really cool town with a great looking street of cave bars. Parking not so easy but don't follow your GPS all the way to the bar in the car. Part before you get there.

WE arrived at the place with no expectations, just to enjoy the unique view. From start, the waiter was super friendly and kind. When it comes to the food, listen to me: do not leave this place without ordering the tomato and tuna salad. It is absolutely fantastic. Such a simple plate, but yet so flavorful because of the highest quality tomatoes and tuna you can get. Such a pleasant surprise!

I left with the feeling that we are not welcome here. Even we asked do the work, the girl was not very polite, local white wine they served us was bad.

Incredible experience doing the elementary pilot course with FlySpain! Rob and Paolo’s support was excellent, couldn’t ask for better instructors. Our group had a great time here and we will all be coming back soon to do our CP course. You will fall in love with the sport 100%. Algodonales is a lovely town that has all you need to relax and enjoy your free time too. Beautiful flying sites nearby all around. If you’re thinking about it, definitely learn to paraglide with FlySpain!

Had a great week paragliding with FlySpain in the newly refurbished Eagle's Nest. New swimming pool is fab and the house is very comfy. Fred and Dylan worked extremely hard to keep us flying until sunset most nights.... This was just what I needed as I have had practically no airtime for the past 2 years. Enjoyed the week immensely and have already booked again for the Spring...... Many thanks to Rob, Nic, Fred, Dylan, Aaron Ty and everyone concerned with FlySpain.

Finished both my EP and CP at Fly Spain, would highly recommend. They have access to private locations for teaching which was ideal for learning, and the instructors I had were personable. Planning on coming back for a XC course!

Just completed my EP week at FlySpain and it was nothing short of epic. Instructors Fred and Ben made a great duo and went all out to ensure we flew whenever and wherever possible. The course, the location, the staff, the equipment and the course mates with similar interests and attitudes who became my good friends - everything about the week surpassed all my expectations.

Fantastic group with great instructors! For the EP course we spent a week in the area around Algondales learning ground control, basic paragliding theory/weather, and short hops from the learner hill. Even with rainy weather for most of the week they still managed to ensure we got the most out of the training more than completing the normal course and capped off the week with multiple launches from about 150m up(in Teba, Spain).

FlySpain Mentor Plus is the best course to take after completing CP. I have attended 2 MP already and planning on a third one. I love the way that it’s designed to get you as many flying hours as possible during the week but always keeping safety in mind. FlySpain team (Fred and Paolo) drove us twice during the week to Matalascañas since the mountains in Algodonales weren’t flyable. We got 2-4 hours soaring time at the beach and it was awesome. Ended up the week with a sunset flight out of El Bosque which it’s always nice. I will definitely recommend this course to any low air pilots looking to maximize air time and to get better at flying. Many thanks to Rob, Nic and the entire FlySpain Team for the great accommodations and for always treating everyone as family. See you all soon!!

I did my paramotoring ep and cp course with Fly Spain and have already been back on. Guided weeks holiday. Couldn’t have had a better experience and look forward to more weeks in the south of Spain. Highly recommended.

I came on a mentor plus week as a disillusioned inexperienced paraglider and left after a week of guidance and support from Pablo and Dylan re-inspired and much more confident. Accommodation and organization are great. The only thing FlySpain can't control is the weather, but every day, flying opportunities were maximized. Highly recommended.

I completed my EP and CP with flyspain and have been back since for a mentor plus course and four XC weeks - including an incredible trip to Columbia. The instruction and guiding is fantastic. They do everything they can to make sure you fly as much as possible and are really lovely people too (important for parawaiting!) The accommodation is comfortable and a great place to rest with lots of nice outdoor areas (and pool!). With accommodation and airport transfer included the price is excellent. Algo is a great place to learn as well as to fly long XC. Go!

Super pleased to successfully complete my Club Pilot course with FlySpain this week. Admittedly, I arrived in Spain far below my A game and having not practised the ground handling skills I'd learnt on September's EP course. But instructors Dave, Paulo and Dora showed immense patience and gave me huge amounts of encouragement and help. Tall about going the extra mile at every stage - no less than four flights at two sites on the final day. Outstanding guys! With a couple of hours of flying time under my belt by the end of the week and more skills learnt I was a far better, more confident flyer at the end of the course. Perfect place to start your paragliding journey! Helpful and patient instructors, the weather is flyable almost all year round, and really nice accommodation. I’ve tried paragliding schools in the UK, but probably none of them could bring you from a zero to a Club Pilot in under two weeks! Rob, Paolo, Dave, Dori, Nic - thank you so much for the courses and see you soon on Levante take off!

Absolutely perfect introduction to paragliding, I don't think I could have chosen a better location or school to learn with. Algodonales is beautiful, nestled in the hillside above a valley, it has nice (cheap) places to eat, €10 is enough for food and a beer. The accommodation is really nice, so those on a bit of a budget can opt to get food to cook, the facilities are just right. The rooms are all different, I expected budget hotel type accommodation, I was pleasantly surprised. The bigger house has a 2 tiered outdoor terrace with a pool and shower, from the terrace you can cook on the barbeque with new friends while having a beer and watch the birds of prey thermalling around the cliffs at the back of the property. There is also a roof terrace with great views across the mountains to the south, and the picturesque village of Zahara, a must see place just over the valley from the Eagle's Nest and worth the drive for Pizza! The classroom is in the basement under the house, so you easily pop back upstairs for a coffee in between theory classes, which are based around the conditions and not scheduled/fixed. They also have a good range of kit, so sitting in the harness you might want to buy while learning about different cloud types for an hour is a good way to see if it fits you! (not actually the case, the theory side is very interesting and varied) They are also really good giving advice on second hand kit, which obviously doesn't make them money but this is just the way they are, friendly and helpful. I would rather buy new from FlySpain in future based on the advice they have given me, for free, than buy elsewhere. The Instructors, in our case Fred and Simon, were fantastic, knowledgeable of the local area and the flying sites to watch the weather at, they only took us out when it was good and took no unnecessary risks. Also absolute characters, never laughed so much. Everyone in our EP group progressed quickly and with confidence, all aspects of the course signed off in good time. Almost every day had conditions that were suited to whatever we were doing, not something you would expect from a week in the UK. During the warm parts of the day the thermal activity gets quite strong and the sun is hot, so siesta time! My only regret is I didn't stop for the 2 weeks to get EP and CP done, but I can almost guarantee this way is still cheaper than trying to get it done in the UK when you take into account fuel, travel etc. Apparently 3 years is average to get to CP in the UK... I will definitely return, the area is a mecca for paragliding and one of the highlights for me was watching 50+ gliders coming in to land at El Bosque with a beer from Pepe's bar (a car!) just before sunset. 😍 I thought I'd be the only one going on my own and was a little bit apprehensive about it at first, but it turned out we all were apart from one (with a non-flying partner) so nothing to worry about, and everyone was great. The motorheads next door (Paramotoring zero to hero) also had a great week and got plenty of air time in. My only regret, not starting 10 years ago!

Very good / experienced instructors willing to work long days to make sure we got as much flying as possible even when the conditions were not ideal. I had a very nice time and will be back

Completed my EP Paragliding course with FlySpain over 6 days (Sun-Fri), with transfers in and out on the Sat each side. The course was excellent; simple theory sessions and maximum focus on being strapped in and working the wing. We had some weather disruptions over a few days, rain and strong winds, but that didn't prevent us achieving all the modules of the EP, including a final flight from 900m. The instructors are excellent and will push you out of your comfort zone, but available to step back and refresh any aspect. The small group (we had 5) meant a lot of time for individual attention and the ability to learn from each others flights. Be prepared for a bit of physical exercise for the first few days, while you rack up your taking off / landings. Ensure you pack 2-3L of water for each morning/arvo session, and some snacks - you will need them after walking up back "the hill" - its a real heat started! I recommend a packed lunch each day, as you can't be sure you will get back to the village for feed. Everything shuts for a few hours from 2pm. Breaky in the square is great value, and dinners are excellent (starting from about 8pm). The transfer from Malaga airport was seamless and a great chance to meet the other students. Malaga airport is well connected with local & national trains. The provided accom was excellent, and I recommend taking the single room option if available. Kitchen was well appointed, washing machine was handy for a mid-week wash, and plenty of couch space across both flats to sit and socialise after each day. So glad I chose to go with FlySpain, the relaxed professionalism of this family business is just perfect. The facilities and equipment are 10/10, as are the various training hills, there was always somewhere we could fly. I am very keen to come back and do my CP course with them in the near future. Had an amazing time here! I signed up for paragliding EP and both instructors we had were top notch! They prioritised safety and got us to fly every single chance we got! As an EP we got to jump off a 1200m hill, twice! Accommodation was the best I can ask for! Thank you hosts for the Paella party! Definitely coming back for CP very soon!

What an amazing tour! Isaac was such a warm, entertaining, educational guide. He explained the process with such enthusiasm and charm (in fluent English). I’ve been on many tours of wineries, distilleries, orchards, etc. over 50 years, and none better than this. I learned so much, and gained a great appreciation for the care this family takes to make only the best, true extra virgin olive oil. The conclusion of the tour, in the 250-year-old dining room, was magnificent. All three generations enjoyed the learning, the tasting, the cultural connection, and the sweet doggies too!

Absolutely wonderful experience at Basilippo! We had a private tour with the owner’s son-in-law, Isaac (we reserved with them online in advance) who was charming, warm, and taught us so much about the olive oil process and the entire culture. The tasting was educational and wonderful. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Sevilla area—was a quick 30 minute drive. Their oils are delicious!

We visited this family owned and operated olive oil company as part of a Spain tour. We had an education about olive oil production and the differences in oil qualities. The place was rustic, the olive grove looked terrific during sunset. The dinner was modest yet tasteful. The olive oil ice cream was heavenly.

If you are in this area, this family owned and operated olive oil farm is highly recommended. Guillermo was incredibly warm, welcoming ,and informative. We loved our tour and the experience here.

INCREDIBLE experience. We arrived without a reservation and the Hacienda was closed. But the owners saw us at the gate, allowed us in and proceeded to spend 2 hours taking us through their entire farm and process. Probably the best experience and show of hospitality we have had during 2 months in Spain. And the olive oil is delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We had a wonderful tour of this family legacy and learned a lot about olive trees, olive oil manufacturing and the passion around making exceptional olive oil. We did not have a reservation but was welcomed like family and enjoyed our time there very much. The store has a great selection of unique and thoughtful olive derivative items.

What a wonderful, informative tour. Isaac was the perfect host and gave us shelter (and coffee) when the rain started to hammer down. All our olive related questions were answered and we will never buy sub standard extra virgin olive oil again. Isaac was a wonderful guide into the world of olive oil. His family’s olive farm is absolutely beautiful. We were on the guided tour which is fascinating and deep dives the history of olive oil and gives a real insight into the process. The endless trees are beautiful. The tour comes with an amazing tasting experience, of course their is olive oil home made on site. You’ll also taste it with meats and ice cream (which is delicious). Make the time to support a local family you will not be disappointed.

Ticket of the pool a bit expensive 15€. However, once you get in there F&B is not expensive. Awesome place but people quite posh (quite common in this region of Spain). This is the only reason I do not give 5 stars

The pool (which is lovely) had just closed when we got there late September and they would not let people use it - pity they'd not bothered to tell us that when we booked - it was still roasting. Breakfast was, well, basic to say the least. They feature private parking but as far as I could see you took pot luck. Not a particularly nice area.. Indeed the best thing about it - had it been open would have been the pool and bar. Room was ok, had working air-conditioning but otherwise nothing special.

We had a great experience for our first hot air balloon trip! Great views from the sky of the mountains, town, and sunflower fields. We ended the flight with breakfast and celebratory drinks. Our driver Alfonso and pilot Vicente were great. Communication over email and WhatsApp with Juanma was prompt and detailed. Very professional and well organized.

Visiting seville from the UK and was recommended Gloobo by a friend for a sunrise hot air balloon flight. We had great experience and the staff/organisers are very friendly and inclusive, with a great sense of humour. Overall the price was very fair for the experience, hotel transfers in Seville and a hot and continental breakfast buffet :)
