With so many great road links, travelling to Lincoln by car is easy. The city is close to a number of major roads including the A46, the A1 and the A15.
If you've got a long journey ahead of you, you will find plenty of places to stop en-route. From farm shops to country estates, some of the best attractions in Lincolnshire are on the outskirts of the city.
Depending on which direction you are coming from, you may also pass through the Lincolnshire Wolds, along the coast or through pretty market towns and villages.
If travelling to Lincoln by car, you can listen for live traffic disruptions on local radio stations, Radio Lincolnshire or Lincs FM. Current and planned road improvement works that may affect your journey are listed on the Lincolnshire Roadworks website.

We advise that you check your route ahead of your journey, as there may be some temporary road closures in place.
If travelling to Lincoln by car, you can park for free and save the hassle of finding a parking space by using the Park & Ride service.
Lincoln's Park & Ride bus runs Monday - Saturday from Waitrose on Searby Road, Lincoln, LN2 4DS.
Parking at Waitrose is free, and there is a bus every 15 minutes from 6:48am (7:48am on Saturday) with the last return bus departing at 6:20pm. During peak times of travel, bus arrival times may vary slightly due to traffic.
Return tickets are available on the bus are at a cost of:
Adults: £2.80
Accompanied children (under 16s): Free
Concessionary bus pass holders: Free (after 9:30am on weekdays)
Local people living within walking distance of the stop can also use the service to and from Lincoln Waitrose, the city centre and Cathedral Quarter for the same fare.

Please note, there is no Park & Ride service on Sundays or Bank Holiday Mondays, and the service may be suspended over the Christmas period due to parking restrictions - check before you travel.
