Right away it becomes obvious that Felix's uptight, neat-freak ways are at odds with his habits, so Oscar worries he has made an enormous mistake, but together they decide that -- whatever their differences -- they can help each other move on from their divorces, make the living arrangement work and, possibly, learn a little more about themselves in the process. What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Stars Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon make a fine Oscar and Felix, but The Odd Couple's flat jokes and canned laughter are pretty old hat.

Jethro Nededog TheWrap I'm not quite hooked. And if others feel the same way and with the overabundance of TV options today, then that doesn't bode well for The Odd Couple. Feb 20, 2015 Full Review Brian Moylan Guardian This show is sort of everything that is wrong with network sitcoms these days. Feb 20, 2015 Full Review Erik Adams AV Club Oscar will teach Felix to unwind a little; Felix will smooth Oscar's rough edges. Repeat until syndication money rolls in. Rated: B- Feb 20, 2015 Full Review Randy Dankievitch TV Over Mind The Odd Couple is the latest failed attempt to bring Matthew Perry back to TV, and the worst of the bunch yet. Mar 12, 2020 Full Review Pattie Pegler Stuff.co.nz Perry and Lennon are good in their respective roles and have certainly got the talent to bring this to life. Let's hope they do before everyone switches off. Apr 26, 2017 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media Unlikely friends mock each other endlessly in stale sitcom. Audience Member At first, I thought this show wasn't going to survive. After watching the first season, the was actually pretty enjoyable. The wit's fast, clean, and consistent. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I want 10 seasons of this! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon are great as Oscar and Felix, but Perry seems too stiff, he needs to loosen up, but Lennon gives a pitch perfect performance! But the writing is very stale, and kinda seems old. It also seems like their trying to be more family friendly than they should be. Ultimately, you like Oscar and Felix, and they annoy each other enough that even with bad writing it's still interesting, but Perry and Lennon's performances elevate them to be slightly funny. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review rosemary f So glad it's back for season 2! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I really wanted to love this show, but one liner after one liner is tedious. Matt Perry seems to smile after each so called joke waiting for a response. Lennon does a very good job as Felix but unfortunately I think Matt was miscast as Oscar. I hope it improves. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A REALLY REALLY BAD remake of the 1970s sitcom about two divorced men who become roommates even though they are polar opposites.
