Dante Gabriel Rossetti was an English artist, painter, poet and illustrator, and one of the original, founding members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. His sister, Christina, was a poet herself. One of her most notable works was "Goblin Market," a fantasy tale of a maiden who falls victims to scheming goblins and must now be aided by her more cautious sister. The two would collaborate here: Dante would create these official illustrations for his sister's poem.
