Following a brief courtship, Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks have reached an agreement in principle, according to sources who spoke with ESPN on Wednesday.
The 30-13 Bucks, who are 3.5 games behind the Boston Celtics for second place in the Eastern Conference, will be now coached by Rivers who will take over Adrian Griffin after he was fired.
According to ESPN, where Rivers has been an analyst this season, he has accepted a deal in principle. David Roberts, head of event and studio production at ESPN, stated on social media, according to the PR department of ESPN that said: “We wish Doc well and we look forward to documenting the next chapter of his coaching career.”
