University of Michigan - Ann Arbor Reviews

The University of Michigan takes a lot of pride in calling itself the best university in the world, but while finishing up my sophomore year I could not agree more. There is such a healthy balance between challenging courses that make students competitive prospects in their next step in life and opportunities to destress and enjoy the "best years of our lives", from watching our football team win the national championship to simply receiving free treats around campus from staff. From my personal experience, I cannot offer any suggestions for change for this amazing university! I have met some of the most kindhearted and motivated people in friends and professors while here and I cannot imagine attending another college.
I always wanted to go UM and worked really hard to get here, and I believe that it paid off! I do, however, think that faculty can be a bit lenient and understanding of students personal life and their impacts on their education and their understanding. Additionally, I believe that safety on campus can be improved and that minorities are considered for safety in the same sense as the majority on campus as we are easily in harms way. As a student graduating, but continuing their education as a graduate student at the University of Michigan, I can say that enjoyed my time on campus. There were so many opportunities to meet other students in other fields and backgrounds. I can only hope that I can get better as a graduate student.
Michigan is a great choice for students that aren't sure what they want to study. The education will be great regardless of what an individual decides to pursue. Student life and engagement is phenomenal, there is a lot for a student to participate in and most end up finding their own niche, consistent past times/extracurriculars after spending time on campus. Still, there is much to be desired from housing, as student housing isn't an option for everyone after freshman year and the off campus housing options can be expensive.
