"Prove you're a Stang and go visit my metang."

I love when Stanger is open and vulnerable about his family life.

It's heartwarming and shit.

Sometimes I wonder why certain movies fell out of cable rotation but all their issues with this one, it makes perfect sense.

The riff on 'vision quest' is exactly why this podcast is the best. Just right in my wheelhouse to spin out several minutes on a misplaced word emphasis.

It's so frustrating that this family is being held hostage by two doofuses with a revolver, and they have multiple opportunities to get the upper hand. Not to mention that Kevin Bacon practically has a neon sign above his head saying 'Bad Guy' from the jump. The scene where John C. Reilly is sleeping with the gun, and they formulate their "plan" is the worst. I was with Gabrus, hit him with a fucking rock!

I think they're trying to do a 'we're not in an action movie' sort of thing - obviously people in action movies risk their lives all the time, but these are 'normal people' and maybe they wouldn't. But when Strathairn is sending smoke signals and constructing MacGyver traps that all falls apart.

i enjoyed this alot as a kid, and I'm a bit more forgiving with some of the criticisms. but they are all true, and I realized I mostly just liked it as Bacon rocks in it. I didn't realise how much cucking was going on back then either.
