Good morning and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
Another review from my favorite Gerne. Shit you could not care about and only like 12 people have seen.
This is a movie about a Chupacabra terrorizing a university. It did a generation ago and a grizzled detective isn't going to let the killer get away.
Yea, there isn't a lot going on here. Mostly bad acting and kind of boring kills.
Also some cult stuff that is just out of left field.
I am of two minds here. One the one hand they did not have the budget for a monster. On the other how do you have a creature feature without a creature?
I always like when film makers try…
Terror at Baxter U is one of those movies where you'll fall asleep/pass out drunk while watching, and then when you wake/sober up to watch what you missed, you instantly realized you made a big mistake and should left it as it was. The opening kill is a mix of okay and terrible making it a wash, the rest will make your teeth ache.
Same director as bland movie-gallery-sploitation movie "The Invitiation" from dcon. Opens with Faculty-ish class room sex scene interrupted by viscous monster attack. Bloody half-skeletonized corpse in the middle of the hallway and the next morning students just go about their business. Like maybe cancel school for the day?
Ummm, a chupacabra is NOT a female vampire. What is this?? I never quite figured it out. Scariest part of the movie is the boiler room b-roll that plays during the credits.
Like the Invitation, there's a shell of a watchable movie but ultimately fails to meet any of my requirements.
Chupacabra movie that takes place in a school & consists of the students sitting around a table talking about the situation & what to do next. It's a real fucking nail biter.
First disc on Tomb of Terrors is complete. First disc on Catacomb of Creepshows is next!
If you can't even show us a Chupacabra (which is my favorite cryptid) , then why the fuck have it in the movie. Maybe if it did appear in the movie, Terror at Baxter U would actually be watchable.
FUCK YOU/10

Christ this one was a chore to get through. So we spend most of the first half of the film in a single classroom as a group of students talk about finding out who’s been committing a bunch of recent killings. Then we spend most of the se3cond half of the film in a green lit corridor as people run about, hide and a bunch of other uninteresting stuff. It’s hard to find much at all to give the film credit for. I guess there’s a half decent looking dead body near the start.
Looking to relive your college days? Looking to be gain just a tad of higher learning? Then you might wanna look elsewhere because Terror at Baxter U barely make the grade. In fact, you'd have a more enjoyable time reading about the chupacabra while paying off your student loans. Speaking of the chupacabra, it never appears on screen, which not only violates the rule of show, don't tell, but it also minimizes the threat. It's a half-assed. Furthermore, God only knows why the filmmakers thought they could get away with seizure-inducing moments of what I'll refer to as chupacabra vision as per the inclusion of red-tinted POV shots. Although they provide some visual interest, the novelty wears off quickly; and…
At the title college campus,a campus-based cult that is composed of a handful of teachers and students have invoked a supernatural being to run around on the loose at tearing apart various people to dine on,with a few of the students attempting to stop them from inflicting any more harm and destruction to their campus. Aside from the opening scene of an underwear clad teen couple being gorily slain by the unseen being(via decapitation, chest ripping, and blood drenched corpses),the rest of TERROR AT BAXTER U is mainly slow moving and boring to the point of the viewers not caring upon what happens, with both director Jeff Burton(INVITATION,ACTS OF DEATH) relying too strongly on overdosing with both the brightly shining red and green…
So low budget you can tell in first seconds of the movie. Awesome plot but very hard to watch due to super shit ass quality.
This is a better than average horror/comedy from the Tomb of Terrors box set but isn't anything special. The horror is light with a few gore scenes including a well done horribly mutilated body at the beginning. The story supposedly involves a chupacabra but I don't ever remember seeing one. The comedy highlight is the actor playing the detective trying to solve the murders. He mugs for the camera in a hilarious manner, jutting his face out, squinting and making goofy movements. His best moment is when he's interviewing students and the black dude says "you mean we suspects!" He sneers "you bet you are!" right at him while giving a dirty look. Hilarious! There's also a silly, retarded janitor…
