China News Entertainment, Beijing, June 16 (Reporter Shangguan Yun) Speaking of actor Li Baotian, many people can casually name a few classic film and television drama images created by him: the clever Liu Luoguo, the funny Xilaile... The audience was impressed.

His acting career started 40 years ago.

In 1983, Li Baotian made his first film "Crossing the Rivers and Lakes", playing a clown.

From that movie, he really got into the film and television industry.

Since then, Li Baotian has performed well in film and television dramas such as "Judou", "Police Li "Wine Bottle" and "Harlequin Dad".

With "Prime Minister Liu Luoguo", he was once popular all over the country.

In 2020, the 30th China TV Golden Eagle Awards and the 13th China Golden Eagle TV Arts Festival Awards Gala will be held.

The China Federation of Literary and Art Circles awarded the Lifetime Achievement Television Artist Award at the meeting, and Li Baotian was one of the winners.

Not long ago, his new book, Self-talk and Self-Painting: Li Baotian, was published.

It consists of three simple parts: autobiographical whispers, painting talks, and miscellaneous art.

A few words outline the life course of Li Baotian.

Readers can get a glimpse of his various experiences: from a good family background, but a little rebellious, he did not go to school as his parents wanted, but went to Nanjing to study opera at the age of 13.

He likes to draw and he likes to read.

Summarizing his performance experience, he believes, "Actors without culture can't go far today. Times have progressed, art has improved, and they can only play craftsmanship."

In an exclusive interview with Sino-Singapore Entertainment, Li Baotian shared his understanding of performing arts and his love for the art of painting, "I have been painting for decades, and I also like woodcarving. Art and performing arts are the two legs of my artistic practice. "

In addition, Li Baotian emphasized that he did not like the corner of "Liu Luoguo".

In comparison, he prefers "Police Li's Wine Bottle" and "Harlequin Dad", "One of the reasons is that the characters and my life experience, personal emotions, and my understanding of the country, society, history, etc. have some differences. fit."

Having worked in the entertainment industry for many years, Li Baotian has not received any commercial advertising endorsements. "It is only natural for actors to accept advertisements, but it is not very consistent with my artistic principles, ideological concepts, and personality characteristics."

"Hundreds of millions of economic income and the purity of art are indeed a big tangle. I chose the latter, which only concerns myself, not others." He said.

Some people think that Li Baotian seems to be a little "maverick".

He felt that this seemed to be his own destiny. "My art and life are shrouded in this character destiny. I can't say whether it is good or bad, it is natural."

The excerpt from the interview is as follows:

Zhongxin Entertainment: You have played a number of roles such as "Xilele", many of which are "little people", which one is your favorite?

Li Baotian:

I prefer "Police Li's Wine Bottle" and "Harlequin Dad".

One of the reasons I like it is that the characters fit my life experience, personal emotions, and my cognition of the country, society, history, etc.

Small people are closer to life, closer to the common people, closer to reality, and more textured.

I am quite satisfied with the interpretation of the little characters in the TV series "Police Li's Wine Bottle" and "Harlequin Dad".

Zhongxin Entertainment: A good performance cannot be completely separated from oneself.

Combined with the shaping of the image of "Xilele", how to understand this point of view?

Li Baotian:

Performance requires the ability to get rid of self-limitation, so as to achieve the level of "supernatural performance", but performance cannot completely surpass the actor himself.

The role of Shilaile includes my understanding of people and things, and this understanding guides how I deal with this role.

Zhongxin Entertainment: When it comes to performing arts, why do you say that "performing professionals should not have PhDs" and "but actors should also have culture"?

Li Baotian:

The concept of culture is very broad, and it is difficult for actors without culture to go deep and far away, especially in modern times.

The Ph.D. focuses on academic research and academic creation in the education system.

Actors can accept academic achievements to play good roles, but they are not academic researchers.

Zhongxin Entertainment: In your opinion, what is a real performing artist?

Why do you say "the constant thing for actors is to be worthy of the common people"?

Li Baotian:

Honestly work and behave according to your own standards, and don't pay much attention to what others say.

To put it simply: conscience + ability = good artist.

Many occupations are in the broad sense of "service industry". Film and television is an art category with a strong popularity. Naturally, we should pay attention to providing the best possible services to the public.

This is the basic professional ethics of an actor.

However, this does not mean that your art, your aesthetic taste, your ideas should be vulgar.

Zhongxin Entertainment: Have you never accepted a commercial endorsement?

Why?

Li Baotian: Not

a single one.

It is only natural for actors to accept advertisements, but it is not very consistent with my artistic principles, ideological concepts, and personality characteristics.

For example, in order to better shape the character and enhance the realism and freshness of the character, the actor's face should be less exposed.

An "advertising face" is not conducive to character building in any way.

Hundreds of millions of economic income and the purity of art are indeed quite a tangle.

I chose the latter, it's only about myself, not about anyone else.
