This is a perfect light watch for an evening while sipping on a cup of milk tea. It's the little cultural things I cannot help but notice in Tollywood films from the 2000s. If someone reads a newspaper it is always The Telegraph, or the news is always on what was still STAR Ananda, and here it's not only these two but there's an entire ad in the film of a jewellery brand. And how ingeniously blent in!
With his stories, Satyajit Ray has always tickled the curiosity of the average Bengali who loves to travel. The penchant for thriller, mystery, and crime having been satisfied since long, from the days of Priyonath Mukhopadhyay's Daroga Priyonath. Here, circumstances take Feluda to the Deccan's most extraordinary caves of Ajanta.
Albeit, no Feluda film since the two directed by Satyajit Ray have been as good, Kailashey Kelenkari (A Killer in Kailash) may still be among the better few.
