Roll of Attorneys Admitted to Practice Before the Court - Sandra Day O’Connor, November 10, 1958

This document is a register of attorneys who were admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. The register includes an entry on November 10, 1958, documenting Sandra Day O’Connor’s addition to those who were approved to practice before the court.

Prior to becoming the first woman appointed as a Justice of the United States Supreme Court, Sandra Day O’Connor was admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of Arizona on November 10, 1958. Over the next 23 years, O’Connor served as Assistant Attorney General of Arizona, Arizona State Senator (including becoming the first woman majority leader in 1973), judge of the Maricopa County Superior Court, and justice of the Arizona State Court of Appeals.

Our office also holds the Roll of Attorneys Admitted to Practice Before the Court, created by the United States District Court for the Central (Los Angeles) Division of the Southern District of California which includes the admission of William Howard Taft, who would become the 27th President of the United States.
