50% Tomatometer 20 Reviews 70% Audience Score 50+ Ratings Life is all about the choices one makes -- and sometimes, what one does in a single moment can change everything. Joe Kimbreau faces one of these decisions at his college graduation, leading to three parallel stories that diverge from that night. Each path finds Joe with a different career -- as a nurse, a police officer or a rock star -- along with different friendships, relationships and family lives, showing the unexpected ways things change -- and stay the same. But when it comes down to it, there is no "right" choice; no matter what happens, Joe's life is always messy, exciting, tough, unpredictable -- and beautiful. What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Ordinary Joe has an appealing start and premise, but it's hard to see whether it's triple timelines will add up to a satisfactory season of television.

Mike Hale New York Times Once you've figured out the plots, though, you see that they're all generic dramedy setups (at this point, anyway), and the triple plotting doesn't give the actors time to build real characters. Oct 11, 2021 Full Review Inkoo Kang Washington Post This "Sliding Doors" for the world's most boring guy keeps adding up to less than the sum of its parts. Oct 11, 2021 Full Review Angie Han Hollywood Reporter It all works well enough for now, in large part because Wolk makes for such an eminently likable lead. Oct 1, 2021 Full Review Matt Roush TV Insider Is this anything-but-ordinary drama trying too hard, following a man (James Wolk) on three different life paths? At least it's trying. We're still intrigued. Jan 3, 2022 Full Review Kristi Turnquist Oregonian Will I watch it again? Yes, to see if the show can move beyond its premise, and get into some actually absorbing drama. Rated: B Oct 11, 2021 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba It's not a "great" show - and the writing can be wobbly at times - but it's not a bad one, either. It's a feel-good melodrama designed to elicit tears of both the happy and sad variety. Oct 11, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Blake S I watched season one or ordinary Joe and very much enjoyed it. I am one who always wonders what my life may have been like if I would have made a different decision after graduation as I had multiple options. When I found this show I very much related and thought it was a great story line. So sad to see that it was cancelled. 5 stars for sure!!! Can someone pick this back up please. I was and am sure many more would love to see where this goes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review j b Personally, I loved it...so, did other people I know that watched. It was original, creative, fast paced, and a story right out of your own life. People who didn't like this show lack imagination for the "what if" You missed the mark on this one! Bring Joe back!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member *SOMEWHAT OF A SPOILER* I really really like this show and how it highlights disability equality, that's the most important thing! I love how it's like three storylines in one and the acting is AMAZING. My only dislikes are the sterotypes and "woke shit." I like how it talks about the real problems in the world but it's starting to pass the line of "woke nation" and that's getting pretty annoying to see in every single tv show and movie. If they steer away from that my review would be better. Also annoying how in today's age you can't watch a show or movie without someone cheating. For once, I thought I'd be able to watch a show that didn't involve cheating in one of the marriage storylines since the romance and true love was so hopeful in the beginning but of course it was in both. Nevertheless, please come out with a season 2 and take the feedback of the viewers!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Great show. Not your same old, same old. Can't wait for season 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A must see show! I know some find it difficult to follow, but it makes perfect sense if you put your phone down and focus. This is not a show for multi-tasking! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Love the show! It really requires some thought, unlike most tv shows these days, which probably means it won't be renewed. Too bad. The actors do an excellent job of playing different roles. I hope it survives to season 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
