Geordie Gray The Australian This is a funny, absorbing show that feels a lot like the Netflix reboot of Queer Eye, but instead of a gorgeously enthusiastic gaggle of gays, the three hosts are vaguely frightening Swedes. Jan 3, 2024 Full Review Chris Vognar Rolling Stone With a big heart, self-knowing wit, and an efficiency you might expect from the title, the show comes not to shame people but to celebrate their resilience, one lifestyle makeover at a time. May 1, 2023 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media It gets a little heavy on occasion, but there's lots of well-timed humor to move things along, and the ideas are quite positive. Rated: 4/5 May 15, 2023 Full Review Liz Kocan Decider Less of a home makeover show and more of a soul makeover, the show doesn’t have big “move that bus!” reveals, but the emotional reckoning the clients often have at the end of each episode is just as moving and satisfying. Apr 28, 2023 Full Review Andy Dehnart Reality Blurred Hoarders may have been more insightful, but what’s on screen in The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning is completely watchable, often inspirational, and gets its basic message across. Do B The show's concept is great as are the three Swedes - HOWEVER the narration is just awful. It is snarky and rude, killing many otherwise lovely moments. If there is a season 2, I sincerely hope they lose the acerbic tone - it doesn't fit with the show and I imagine it was very difficult for the people who participated to hear lame attempts at sarcastic humor right after they shared highly personal moments. Who on earth thought that was a good idea? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Jill S This show is everything you want in good television; laughter, tears, education, and genuine love for its cast. I could not get enough of this show! The stories are compelling and relatable, and the change they bring to the people they serve is nothing short of beautiful. Five stars, keep the Swede's coming! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/23/23 Full Review Amy P Quality show. The philosophy of death cleaning is for a better life. I found this way of living to be fascinating and it made for a great makeover show, its similar to queer eye in that it made me laugh, cry, and feel inspired. The Sweedish take on life and death is a realist one, and the heart in this show big. Amy Pohler's narration made it a home run for me. Can't wait for season 2!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/07/23 Full Review K R This show is a wonderful mix of heart, humour and practical advice in decluttering messes. You'll laugh, you'll cry and be inspired. The people they help have relatable stories. I can't recommend it enough. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Abby S Luv this show, my new favorite and cannot wait for Season 2! 💕 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Josh C A beautifully done surprise of a show!
