Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald It’s a story that could only have happened in Los Angeles in the first decade of the 21st century. And, as this engrossing new documentary series shows, it was one that was absolutely bound to happen right then and there. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 29, 2022 Full Review Daniel D'Addario Variety Haines and Norgo both are self-aggrandizing in a manner that wears thin after a while; their conflicting memories of who said what to whom more than a decade ago is of only the lightest academic interest.. Sep 19, 2022 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist is a story that could maybe only happen in Hollywood in the 21st century. But the show tells it pretty well. Oct 7, 2022 Full Review Alison Lanier Pajiba We got nothing from this breed of true-crime retrofitting -- feeding off the prestige of the movie and the celebrity involved, it just gives the attention-hungry more of what they crave: their faces on millions of screens and some cash in their pocket. Sep 29, 2022 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media If you like tabloid TV you might find The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist amusing. But if you're looking for new discoveries or fresh details about the crimes that were committed, you won't find it here. Rated: 2/5 Sep 28, 2022 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express The Real Bling Ring doesn’t quite glamorise its shady subjects in the way that The Wolf of Wall Street did, but it doesn’t make any radical observations about the decline of culture either. David F This appears to be the true story of the Bling Ring from the Bling Ring members themselves. Has a confessional tone, although the members of the ring themselves don't seem to agree on how it all went down. Including the perspective of some of the victims, this is a well-rounded re-telling of the famous home burglaries of the famous. I liked how the documentary makers left some things open and tried to present the different perspectives without coming to a definitive conclusion. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review Popeye T I like at the ending of this their a statement by Paris Hiltons rep claiming that she denies any Coke was found in her House or that Nick Prugo didn't find any. (Bullshit) According to an online link 2010 statement - Paris Hilton was found in Possession of 0.8 grams of Coke at a Traffic stop as below. "Hilton ... was arrested in August after an officer found 0.8 grams of cocaine in her handbag after a traffic stop. She pleaded guilty to two misdemeanours and was sentenced to probation. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/02/23 Full Review Nicole F These people are awful and shouldn't be given any more airtime. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review Mary Beth E This is the saddest group of people I have ever seen. The useless lives they all chose to led and ironically wanting to be someone ending up being nothing to no one. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/14/22 Full Review Richard W I'm a little surprised this is so popular. There's no mystery behind it, very few sordid details we didn't already know or couldn't have figured out. It feels more like a money grab than a genuinely thought out show. What really struck a nerve was what Alexis says at the end. In effect - she takes some responsibility but not all because 1) she was only involved in one heist (that's fair) and 2) Society also is to blame - WHAT? I call BS. If I could talk to Alexis, I'd tell her she cannot play the "victim of society" card because A) she IS society, B) she knew damn well theft was illegal and she could get caught, and C) they did it for fun and fame. A real victim of society is one who commits crimes to survive because society either expects a certain person (or group of person) to break the law or the laws are stacked against a person, or both. Really irksome when people of means try to pretend they are somehow broke and not responsible for anything they do. As far as I'm concerned Alexis' only saving grace is her conscious wouldn't allow her to continue and she called police. My apologies for any spoilers.
