When Count George I von Württemberg-Mömpelgard was born on 5 May 1498, in Hohen, Brachstedt, Saalkreis, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, his father, Heinrich von Württemberg, was 49 and his mother, Countess Eva Gräfin von Salm, was 30. He married Princess Barbara von Hessen on 10 September 1555, in Holy Roman Empire. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 18 July 1558, in Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, at the age of 60.
