- SharonJT67Durham, UK6,993 contributionsPretty little village made popular by the GoT series so would recommend you visit out of peak tourist season to appreciate it, not a lot to do there with one pub left open as the other is not accepting guests, worth a walk down to the shingled beach to see the caves.Written March 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ellan D1 contributionI wanted to visit this Irish Cottage after i spotted it on Google Earth by accident! Sooo glad we went today.
I was more interested in the history of the cottage than who had occupied it;but,it turned out that ALL of it was interesting.
Mary, the museum guide, was brilliant.Such a lovely person. She explained things to us about the President, but, was also was able to tell us interesting points about the cottage and tales from that era.She told us about the fire tools and how they were used and how food was cooked.
I will definitely be recommending this idyllic spot to friends.A wonderful afternoon.Well done and Thankyou Mary.

Santa was amazing and it’s the first time my 2 year old has went anywhere near santa, he took his time to speak to her. - Rosemary HBelfast, UK2 contributionsI visited Gracehill with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. A guided tour showed us the beautiful preserved village . We were told many interesting stories of the lives of those who had lived there , and visited God's Acre where family members from generations before had been buried. I definitely recommend a visit. - aengusmumWest Sussex373 contributionsAs a 1st time visitor to NI, it quickly becomes apparent that shopping is a very different experience here. We felt that Ballymena overall is 'on the up', especially compared with many mainland UK towns which are definitely not! Some nice, niche and upmarket brands coming in, mixed in with the expected Boots, discount and pop-up shops. Also Taboo Donuts which was fab and had a nice upmarket feel to it. Hope that the shops outside Fairhill enjoy some shared success, there's some interesting ones.Written November 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David MNewtownabbey, UK130 contributionsTucked away in the middle of the Moravian village of Gracehill is a little treasure. The church , still with it's separate men's and woman'e entrances ( though not adhered to now ) and with the simplicity that many ornate cathedrals lack. Well worth a visit when in Ballymena.Written January 27, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BelfastFoodTravelManBelfast, UK6,831 contributionsI popped into the library to find out about the local history of Ballymena. Firstly the building is impressive, secondly staff very friendly, third there was lots on the history of Ballymena. A superb resource.Written November 2, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Barradale26 contributionsI came across The Ticket Bakehouse at the station while exploring Cullybackey and it was such a lovely surprise. Even though trade was brisk (which didn't surprise me at all) I couldn't have had a nicer and warmer welcome. The coffee was delicious and the freshly baked delights beyond description (I had a blueberry and lemon scone that melted in my mouth and was absolutely stunning - I'll never forget it). - SteveodoCarrickfergus, UK5,608 contributionsA very impressive sight. I did not get to go inside, the church was closed. I was walking around the town, and the extraordinary stand of trees on their front lawn was impossible to ignore. The site was open, so I could walk around the church. I liked the details in the stonework. A plaque says its mid-nineteenth century, but it may have been changed after a fire. In spite of the bell tower being very tall, the trees now manage to look down on it. The gatehouse is very cute. It seemed to be under guard from a black, one-eyed cat the day I was there.Written May 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
