Group of 8 members - 8 days Japan itinerary

2 families of 4 members each (each family has 2 adults 50-57 years age group and 2 young adults 20-26 years age group) will be visiting Japan for the 1st time from May 12-20. I have travelled on business many times to Japan, but 1st time with family.

Day 1: 12-May: Arriving by 2 separate flights - one arriving in Haneda, other arriving in Narita, both around 4 pm. Stay at Shinjuku AirBnB. Planning to take Airport Limousine Bus to Shinjuku station, then take cabs to the stay place. Since we are coming off long flights from India and USA, nothing planned that day.

Day 2: 13-May Near Shinjuku - Shinjuku Gyoen, Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya

Day 3:14-May Imperial Palace, Nihombashi, Tokyo Tower, TeamLab Planets in the evening. Dinner at Vegan Ramen place near TeamLab. (Question: It is worth doing Imperial Palace? Or: The young boys are interested in seeing Sumo wrestling practice. Is it better to see the Sumo practice?)

Day 4: 15-May Tokyo National Museum, Sensoji, Asakusa, Akihabara (Question: The boys are interested in doing an Anime tour. Any recommendations please?)

Day 5: 16-May. Check out from Shinjuku hotel, Rent a bus with driver, travel to Hakone, sightseeing, Lake Ashi cruise, visit Owakudani, then bus will drop us off at Mishima station, then take Shinkansen to Kyoto.

Day 6: 17-May Kyoto AirBnB is 15mins by walk, 5 mins by taxi from Kyoto JR station. Our plan presently is to start early morning from Kyoto, take Shinkansen to Himeji. Visit Himeji castle and garden from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Take 11:50 Shinkansen from Himeji to Hiroshima. Reach Hiroshima by 1:00 pm. After lunch, visit Hiroshima Bomb Memorial, visit Miyajima around 4 pm. Basic sightseeing in Miyajima, dinner at Hiroshima, Travel back to Kyoto by Shinkansen (Question: Is this too ambitious to do? Or should we cut out Miyajima and just go back to Kyoto after visiting Hiroshima? We do not have any other day to visit Osaka. So, another thinking is after Hiroshima, we take the Shinkansen to Osaka, soak up some night life, eat dinner -vegetarian - and head back to Kyoto late night. The visit to Osaka would just be to tick a box, so any suggestion on any 1 place to visit in Osaka would be helpful)

Day 7 and Day 8: 18-19 May Kyoto sightseeing - the usual stuff.

Day 9: Fight back to India at 9:10 am from KIX. We are planning to rent a bus from our Kyoto AirBnB. Leave at 6:30 am.

Any other general suggestions based on our above plan would be most appreciated.
