This one was kinda cute! Especially compared to the previous two. The ratio of high jinks and shenanigans worked for me. Just enough made for TV/late 80s Cheese Whiz esthetic that made me think I was watching a Saved by the Bell episode. Plus, I am on the record for being a fan of Paid Vacation Cinéma.
One of my favorite weird details is when an obvious still from the movie is used as a picture when no one in that scene was established having a camera.

The Parent Trap 60th marathon continues.
This is easily the best of the three sequels to the point where I almost gave it 3.5 stars (but the lack of real drive to the plot means it starts to lose steam a bit as it goes along). Without yet another "let's get this couple together" plot, the writers are free to come up with new ways to utilize the switching places trope, and they manage to do so creatively. There's more of a sense of loony fun about this that kind of makes it feel like a Saved by the Bell episode. While still not necessarily great, it's still fun and not a bad note to end this particular series on.…
Definitely a high water mark for the Parent Trap Cinematic Universe. Who would’ve expected Barry Bostwick could be such a positive force in such a slight and forgotten movie.
Is it even really a parent trap anymore? I feel like the parents have been trapped enough
The main cast of the prior film pleasantly returns. Hayley Mills charm and grace gets me through, Barry Bostwick seems to have more fun with this role, while triplets Leanna, Monica, and Joy Creel remain pleasant and they each individually get more to do. Jayne Meadows had Agnes Moorehead in Pollyanna vibes.
I thought there was more meat to the story than before with the family renovating a run-down family resort in Hawaii. Each character got something to do that tied to that. All while there are some family issues they have to deal with.
