Early in the season, it looked like PWHL Minnesota might be the team to beat. They got off to a red hot start and were the talk of the league. Fast forward to the eve of playoffs, and no team is entering the PWHL playoffs on a colder run.

Minnesota lost all five games they played in regulation following the international break for the World Championships. While captain Kendall Coyne Schofield knows that stretch is stuck in people's minds, but believes her team also played good hockey this season.

"I think it's really easy to look at the last five games, to look at what didn't go well for us, but it's been a long season," said Coyne Schofield. "I think there was a pause in there, it's sometimes hard to remember what happened before that pause and the international competition, but we've put together some great hockey this season."

While the recent skid is at the forefront, Coyne Schofield said that that portion of the season is done now. From here on out, it's a fresh sheet of ice for PWHL Minnesota.

"The last five games definitely was not our best hockey," she said. "Moving forward it's a new season, everyone starts with a clean slate, every team, every player, and we look forward to going into Toronto with that clean slate."

With a fresh start in mind, Coyne Schofield and the rest of PWHL Minnesota are not simply content to be in the playoffs, they have bigger goals in mind.

"We're just not excited that we're in the playoffs, obviously we want to win, and that's our mindset."
