A slept on budget bin production! Deep and sexy as the commenter below put it, and quite ethereal. I was put onto this record via the Shocking Pink mix, quite randomly, after picking up the 1996 compilation Various - Global Basics: Dance Music For The Millennium. It is paired there with another Danny Tenaglia remix, Patricia Kaas - Reste Sur Moi, which I HIGHLY recommend if you like this track.

It was a wonderfully pleasant surprise to hear Bradley Zero play the Ballroom Mix early in a set he did at Public Records this past weekend -- gorgeous on a big system and I thought it completely rocked the room.

The Ballroom mix still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. One of the greatest intros in House music (imo), haunting vocals & scream makes it one of Tenaglia's finest (and fiercest).

With the exception of the vocal, the Tenaglia versions are unrecognizable when compared to the jazzy indie rock of the original of Surrender Yourself.

Check the full unedited 14 minute 15 second Ballroom Mix on the "Are You Satisfied" 2x12" from 1994.

This was Tenaglia's breakthrough record and The Ballroom Mix was definitley a pioneering track in that mid-90s hard NYC House/ Vasquez/ Factory sound.

From back in a time when folks were vogeing, and free-stylin up a storm, comes this track. Not one of the absolute best during the 90s house era, but it still works a treat.

Not sure where we came up with titles of these mixes, as sleeve is not marked with them in ANY way that I saw on my copy.
However, "Factory Reprise" is exactly that (see The Daou - Are You Satisfied?).
"Mecca Vibe" I have NOT found elsewhere...it's basically the "Factory Reprise" with more keys dubbed in.
Pretty cool, worth the purchase for the DEVOUT fan.
            Otherwise, pass.

I didn't hear this track until it was re-released on the b-side of "Are You Satisfied?" in 1994, and I instantly started spinning it. I didn't know at the time that it was already 2 years old!

The Tenaglia mix is simply marvelous. I sold most my house records after i quit it, but i kept this because i think it's a great track just to slam on only for listening purposes. But it also is a marvelous club track. It has class and the groove and it's pretty darn sexy to describe it properly, i can imagen girls shaking their booty to this. Real deep New York sound and by far the best Tenaglia remix i have heard by the man. It suits perfect for dark big rooms.

A truly great House tune from the early 1990's, this has got to be one of my all time personal classics. Everything about this track works on every possible level. It made #1 on the US dance charts on it's release, but this one has remained fairly low-key and underground over the years - another reason to love it that much more. Spins by Frankie Knuckles on a nightly basis when it first hit the scene, and it's a track that sums up the Sound Factory (legendary NYC club) vibe perfectly. Awesome, awesome house classic.
