Iron Maiden is a British Heavy Metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. The current lineup of Iron Maiden consists of Harris, lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers.

This logo was first used on their self-titled album Iron Maiden (1980). The logo was created by the bassist and leader of the band Steve Harris. This design was last used in their tenth album, The X Factor (1995), but was later brought back for their sixteenth album, The Book of Souls (2015) and it is the main logo since then.
