Our daughter works for Microsoft and, although she has been here for just over three years now, this was only our second trip and the first time we had been able to get to the Visitor Centre, Covid restrictions etc. This therefore might not be the most unbiased of reviews!

My other half is much more into computing and gaming than I am and was fascinated by the history of the company, including exhibits of early computers and tech, especially the Altair 8800, something he knew about but which he had never seen in the flesh.

There were lots of interactive opportunities but, when we were there, these were largely hogged by the younger generation!

There is also a Microsoft Store with branded goods; everything from a pencil, through babygros, clothing, stationery, homewares up to laptops themselves.

I think you do need to have a real interest in the company or some kind of connection to get the most out of the visit, but we found it interesting. The campus was rather quiet, so many employees are not yet back in person post covid, but I can imagine that things would have been absolutely buzzing back in the day.

We entered the trail in Bothell and walked along the river until we neared the Bothell Museum.

This was a paved path that was popular this day in May. Good for both humans and leashed dogs. Ours definitely got in a good workout and sniffed to his heart’s content.

In this section there also was good shade from many tall trees along the side of the trail. Picnic tables and benches were also randomly placed for resting or eating.

A bridge or two crossed over the river. Besides the Bothell museum, there were kayak rentals, dog park, playground and other activities along the trail.

As we wrapped up our walk as our dog was getting tired, he was intrigued by the tooting of a couple of small steam boats chugging down the river.

Next time we’ll rent bikes and try to go further.

The puzzles and production quality are superb and the experience was immersive. Nice attention to details down to the circa 1920's elevator music. We drove over an hour to do the adventure and it was very much worth the drive. We will be back to do try the other rooms soon.
