Admissions
City of London School for Girls is a selective, independent day school in the heart of the City. Girls come to us from all over London. It is a unique learning environment, and we are delighted that you are considering joining us.

Scholarships
Scholarships may be awarded to pupils for outstanding merit and promise. At 11+, music scholarships are offered. At 16+, scholarships are offered in music, drama, art and sport.
11+ music scholarships
Potential music scholars must offer at least one instrument (or voice) at a minimum of grade 6 standard, with a lower grade considered for unusual instruments. Only pupils who are successful in the CEM assessment may apply for a music scholarship. Applicants will be asked to provide details of their music achievements and upload videos of audition pieces. A shortlist of applicants will be selected for an audition and interview. This will take place after the entrance exams and interviews in January
Scholarships are valid for five years and are worth up to £1,500 per year. Pupils may have the opportunity to reapply for a scholarship in the sixth form.
16+ scholarships
Music: scholars must be at grade 8 in one instrument. Applicants will be asked to provide details of their music achievements and upload videos of audition pieces. A shortlist of applicants will be selected for a live interview and audition. Students do not necessarily need to choose music as an A level option, but it is encouraged.
Drama: drama scholars must choose to study drama and theatre studies at A level. They should have a real passion for drama and theatre and be interested in all aspects of the subject, from acting to costume design. Candidates will submit a video of a short monologue as part of the admissions process. Those shortlisted for a scholarship will be invited to an audition.
Art: art scholars must choose to study art at A level. Candidates will submit an art portfolio as part of the admissions process. Those shortlisted for a scholarship will be invited to a drawing exercise and interview.
Sport: potential sports scholars should be able to demonstrate that they are currently competing in their sport(s) at a high level, ideally at club or representative level. 16+ applicants for sports scholarship will be requested to submit video evidence, from which a shortlist of candidates may be selected to attend an interview.
