Expert safecracker Arthur Clutten masterminds heists for a criminal syndicate he belongs to. But after witnessing the brutal methods of persuasion being meted out by gang leader, Ignatius Smith Clutten decides to quit. But he realizes the gang would sooner see him killed than quitting. After stealing some documents incriminating Smith and his boss, Edward Ross, Clutten then puts his family in hiding and goes on the run...but his daughter has been kidnapped by the gang and a hitman has been hired and is close to finding Clutten.

There are double crosses a-plenty in this serviceable British thriller, which cast crazy comedian Norman Wisdom in a rare straight role as safe cracker Arthur Clutten. He's been two years on the run from 'the organisation' which is headed by Irish hothead Iggy Smith (Bernard Hill) and smooth politico Edward Ross (Simon Ward).
The film is narrated by former Chicago cop Michael Cooper (a wooden William Katt) from the moment he meets Clutten, seemingly by chance, to the final showdown where he 'gets the last laugh'. The weakness of the film is Katt's casting in the major pivotal role - he's just dreadful and far from believable.

Shani S. Grewal’s British crime drama with Bernard Hill and Norman Wisdom. Former petty thief and safecracker Arthur is the ‘brains’ behind ‘The Organisation’ but he wants out.
While taking a vacation in Scotland, American explorer Michael Cooper (William Katt) drags old man Arthur Clutten (Norman Wisdom) into his car following a blast at a hotel. Michael finds out about Arthur’s back story, and discovers why individuals want him dead.
Norman Wisdom (in a serious part) doesn’t convince in his role as Arthur Clutten, the expert safecracker involved and this proves that comedy suited him much better, while Bernard Hill is Ignatius, the brutal gang leader.
