Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sue OBroughton, United Kingdom19 contributionsWe thoroughly enjoyed our walk up the lock path and back. Fascinating watching the canal boats going up the locks.
Enjoyed a warming bowl of soup in the cafe at the bottom end of the locks.Written 30 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On entering the building we were greeted with an explosion of colour from the fantastic display of fruit and vegetables followed by high class butchery, deli you name it they have it in abundance and such quality.
The Cafe was equally top notch so we visited that twice as well.
Just to say the reason for the second visit was to shop on our way back home to Hertfordshire.
Wish it was our local.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You might even do as my grandson, when he was small. Run alongside the boats and assist in winding the sluice gates open/closed. Such activity helps build more than knowledge; it adds to the history lesson, at no cost.
The Walk is part of the exercise, and not just of the mind and memory.
You might even get to enjoy an hour or so on a canal boat; why not take the wider family, too!Written 18 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I love the backdrop artistic representations of the Iron age settlement which brings alive the fascinating Hallaton hoard. The history of Market Harborough and the surrounding area is captured through interesting displays.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Win TaskBedford, UK1,123 contributionsAlways love Churches architecture so here I am. It was open when I stepped in. No one was there and so quiet and peace inside. I like the big glass window with beautiful glass work.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Win TaskBedford, UK1,123 contributionsA school was founded in 1607 by Robert Smyth, a native of the town who became Comptroller of the City of London's Chamber. He left money for the education of poor children. In 1614 this schoolhouse was built, in accordance with Smyth's detailed instructions.
Btw it’s small historical building sitting in middle of town centre. Anyone can have a look around it.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good service of trains by EMR. Plenty of parking in front of station. What I think is missing is facility for disabled people because there’s no lift for platform.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The gates were lovely and it would have been nice to see lights on them in the evening. They would have looked really good lit up.Written 25 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Molly YehManchester, UK96 contributionsIf you are staying at the Travelodge and don't fancy eating alone in a restaurant, this is a great little takeaway, most of the meals I have had from here have been great, once or twice they have been a little heavy handed with the Soy Sauce but in the main they have been really nice.Written 28 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
