Online check-in

Choose your preferred seat and buy more baggage allowance ahead of your flight when you check in online using your computer, tablet, or the flydubai mobile app.

When to check in online

Online check-in opens 48 hours prior to flight departure and travellers can check in up to 75 minutes before the flight departure time.

After you've checked in online, at some airports you might still need to go to the airport check-in counter for us to verify your travel documents and issue your boarding pass.

How to check in online

Website and mobile app: you can check in online through the flydubai desktop or mobile site or by downloading the flydubai app. We recommend downloading the app to get real-time updates like gate changes and boarding announcements via notifications.

Once you've opened online check-in, enter the booking reference number and the last name and click the 'Check in' button.

You can further select window, aisle, or extra legroom seat, add baggage, upgrade to Business Class and more before proceeding to check in and getting your boarding pass.

Baggage drop-off

If your flight is from Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport (DXB), and you have bags to check in, you can go to:

• the bag drop desks 19 to 22 for Economy Class; or 
• the bag drop desks 23 and 24 if you are flying in business or you are an Emirates Skywards member (Platinum, Gold or Silver). 

If your flight is from Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport (DXB), and you have bags to check in, you can go to:

• any economy class check-in counter in all areas* if you are flying in economy; or
• any check-in counter in areas F* and J* if you are flying in business.

*Except the areas assigned for specific flights e.g., Area 5 is assigned for US flights check-in only

When to board the flight

You'll need to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the departure time of your flight. When you arrive at the airport go directly to one of our check-in desks where we’ll check your documents and print your boarding pass and then you’ll be on your way.

• Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure.
• Boarding starts 45 minutes before your flight.
• Boarding gates close 20 minutes before flight departure.

If you arrive late, you will not be accepted onto the flight and your baggage will be offloaded.

Check-in restrictions

Once you've checked in online, you won't be able to change your booking or add/modify the optional extras on your booking.
