"Ms. Iyer matches her business achievements with community engagement. During the Covid pandemic, she helped run Off Their Plate, a nonprofit supporting restaurants and fighting food insecurity, and was honored as a Forbes Culture Champion," GA said in a news release. "And a career highlight is having served the nation in 2011—as a staffer in financial policy at the National Economic Council, and most proudly, as the Easter Bunny that same year for the White House’s traditional Egg Roll."

Iyer's academic career at GA included Cum Laude honors, participating on the math team, being a local journalist and participating in volunteer work.

She has a bachelor's degree in applied math from Yale College and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was chosen by her peers as class graduation speaker in 2018, according to GA.

"We are so impressed with Serrena's personal and professional accomplishments. What an example of the kind of women GA girls grow up to be!" said Head of School Margaret Hazlett in a news release. "We can’t wait to welcome her back to campus."
