Pros:
Upon arrival at 2 pm we were placed in a room right away, check in wasn’t until 4pm.
Room was quaint, but clean. Nice view, one block from Times Square, but quiet.
Complimentary breakfast consisted of fresh pastries and bagels, fruit, and boiled eggs.
Security checked room keys nightly at the elevators, which was nice since it’s in a busy area.

Cons:
We were placed in a Queen room instead of the King we paid for, we were offered to swap rooms or receive a partial refund. Since we had already unpacked, and did not need a larger bed, we opted for partial refund. Three days post trip, we have not received the refund or the $100 deposit due at check in for “incidentals.” I plan to follow up with this tomorrow.
Small rust spots, soft spots in shower/tub floor, multiple coats of chipping paint around trim all show hotels age.
Twice cleaning staff knocked loudly and proceeded to open our room door after I had called out that guests were in the room, both times we had the inner lock placed, once the “do not disturb” sign was on the door. This was around 8am and 10 am. Luckily we were awake, or I would have been much more upset.
Hotel Wi-Fi never worked while we were there. Due to this, no credit card transactions could be made at the bar/breakfast area, and they would not allow cash purchases.
Lastly, two elevators became stuck with people inside, luckily not us, but Fire department had to come out to pry open the doors.

In conclusion, the hotel was convenient to many hot spots, restaurants, broadway shows, subway, etc. but value for money is not there in my opinion.

Thank you for the feedback, sarahlee0822. We regret that your time with us was anything less than perfect. We're happy that you appreciated our fast check-in and cleanliness along with our safety and delicious breakfast options. It's unfortunate your room didn't exceed your expectations, and that you were inconvenienced by our WiFi connection, elevators, and some members of our housekeeping team. We strive to ensure our guests have a pleasant experience so we'll be sure to discuss your feedback with the appropriate members of our team moving forward. We hope you allow us the opportunity to share a more positive experience with you soon.

Second visit to NYC, however first stay at this hotel.

Pros-
Location to Times Square
Ice Machine
Comfy bed
Reusable cups

Cons-
Slowest elevators ever
Rip off resort fees (although it seems you have to pay these everywhere)
Rooms are small (a lot smaller than they seem to be on the webpage)
Reception area is nice but everywhere else Needs modernising especially the Rooms.
Noisy air con.

Would say you get what you pay for...We are not fussy people and would say the hotel is ok...not the best by far but great location.

We stayed at Row for 4 nights. The room is very basic and there is little space to put anything. The room was like a sauna when we first got there and the heating system was not turning off. We rung reception about this and they said somebody would come up... nobody ever did and when we rung reception to see what was happening there was no answer. One day after we had been out from 7 am to 5 pm we came back and the room had not been cleaned and the bed was not made up. We complained about this when we went out for dinner and the hotel sent someone to clean the room straight away. Another big issue we found was the corridors constantly smelt of cannabis - which was not pleasant. With this being said the hotel is in an excellent location and for a few nights you can put up with the problems.

This hotel needs serious work. Dirty rooms, overcrowded elevator space, over priced drinks and rude staff upon check in.

1) The staff member who checked us in was blunt and very unenthusiastic.

2) The first room we were given was horrendous, there was nails on the bathroom floor, dirty and dusty floors and surfaces. The bathroom had hair, toothpaste etc on all surfaces and there was also hairs on and in the bed. Overall a complete disappointment upon first sight.
I refused to stay in this room so we called and asked to change rooms.

3) The second room was no different, still very very dirty. Our room was not dusted/hoovered more than once our entire stay, only the bed was turned up and two days the room wasn't touched at all. Both plugs in the bathroom did not work and we had to call for towels three times throughout the week. The wifi did not connect for half our our stay, nor did we receive the plastic bottles you pay a $240 facility fee for. The air con/heater in the room is terribly noisy and will wake you up numerous times throughout the night.

Part way through the holiday we looked into moving hotels and buying our own bedsheets to use for the remainder of our stay.

We called multiple times to make small complaints about our issues in person/via the phone but there was no care until we checked out and I spoke to the manager for a second time. Upon checking out the staff and second manager were helpful but it does not excuse the horrendous stay we had for the full week.

When checking in at this hotel, my friend I and found that the room booked was not as requested and had to share a double bed rather than having 2 beds in the room. Of course the hotel blamed the travel company and they blamed the hotel. There was no tea and coffee facilities in the room and breakfast was an extra (rather extortionate) charge, even for a cup of coffee. The room was filthy, we took photo's. The reusable water bottle was meerly a plastic cup with a lid, the water at the water stations was cloudy. The iphone docking station was about as much good as a chocolate fire-guard with it's very old connection. Iphone 4 and below I beleive. The bathroom door didn't close properly as it is a sliding door so no privacy to use the bathroom and the lift broke down and we had to wait for the fire brigade to turn up (At least we weren't the family stuck in the lift though!) Being on the 20th floor, walking the stairs was not an option. The windows were single glazed and even being on the 20th floor did not stop the noise so with 1 bed between us and lots of noise, we didn't get any sleep. The Air conditioning unit was very loud and even with this turned off, it turned itself on multiple times through the night, disturbing any little sleep we did get.
The free wifi wouldn't enable us to connect but you can pay to upgrade to their better wifi service - we didn't bother but another area where marketing have done a great job with this hotel
The resort fee was charged but the only thing we got for this resort fee was vouchers to a very substandard comedy show that when looking at the reviews was a rip off so please be careful if thinking of going to this and 10% off vouchers for stores that we did not use. All in all, A very dissapointing experience at this hotel. Not sure where the 4 stars came from but after many years of travelling I would put this at 2 star at best.

I visited the hotel with a friend In January 2020. The rooms are small but have everything you need. We were barely in our room and didn’t use house keeping services every day because it was not necessary. We had booked our hotel through a third party and were charged before coming. I then gave my credit card when we arrived for a “deposit” which I was not told ANYTHING by front desk staff about being charged.
When I returned home to Canada I noticed I had an extra $300.00 charged to my card from the hotel. I then phoned the hotel and the woman on the phone assured me it would be refunded onto my card as it was just a deposit. After 1 month of not seeing the money returned back to me, I emailed the hotel. I then received an email back with an invoice that showed $35.00 (US) per day for “facility fees” plus a lot of taxes. The woman who responded was not helpful in responding to me or explaining anything, I tried to give her feedback as I was quite frustrated, along with telling her I will not be visiting this hotel again, or recommending it and she Chose to just not reply to me.
If you’re going to choose to stay at this hotel just be prepared for the extra charges to show up on your credit card that you will not be told about! :):)

We appreciate the feedback, Amanda. We regret that you had such challenges during your time with us. It's unfortunate you didn't notice all fees associated with your booking. Our facilities fee allows us to offer additional amenities for our guests. The fee provides the following services: local, long distance and international phone calls; high-speed wireless internet access; an eco-friendly water bottle to use at the hotel’s water filtration stations; and printing services in our iMac lounge. In addition to this, our Facilities Fee also provides you with special discounts whenever you show your hotel key card at participating vendors. The information regarding this fee is readily available on our website, along with all third party booking platforms. We do hope you give us another opportunity to share a more positive experience with you soon.

Checking in was very fast and efficient the entire staff make you feel very comfortable and safe. Guards make sure you've got a key to your room before they let you into the elevators. Housekeeping do an amazing job at cleaning up your room and assuring you've got your needs stocked up.

Booked this hotel via my local independent travel agency. My expectations were pleasantly exceeded.
At first glance the hotel was modern, urban and bustling, perfect for a city break. Location was fantastic situated just around the corner from Times Square and on the outskirts of Hell's Kitchen. We were warmly welcomed by Junior at the reception desk and offered the choice of room with view or space being the preference. We chose space but were also very pleasantly surprised with a limited view of the city also. The room was a little jaded which you would expect from a hotel with a high turnover of guests but was spotlessly clean, all conveniences provided, hairdryer, iron and board, safe and air conditioning all with no additional charges. No tea and coffee making facilities but so many places to eat and drink it was not missed.
Lift system was really efficient and no jostling or cramming into busy elevators.
There is a bar and shop on site for convenience and computers and free wifi in all the rooms.
Great base for exploring the city, would definitely book this hotel again.

Perfect location and reasonably priced as well. The room was a decent size and we had a view onto the street below from the 21st floor, it was quiet on our floor and then you go to the ground floor and its always so busy which is nice. There is a bar which seems nice. We had no problem with check in, we were in our room within 10 minutes of entering the hotel, the lifts are well organised as well, there at 6 lifts and we were never left waiting for more than a couple of minutes. I would visit here again, you are a 2 minute walk to time square, it really is in the centre and a short walk to the subway as well. Priced well for central New York.

Stayed last week, all I can say is you get what you pay for, don't think I will be rushing back!

Positives:

Time Square Central Location is Good
Bedding was Clean and room cleaned every day
Water was always hot
TV worked and had a remote
Rooms were compact - but functional

Negatives:

Reception in hotel is quite hectic and tired
The lifts and corridors smell quite strongly of weed
Rooms in the close proximity of lifts can be quite loud
Waiting for lifts can be very frustrating and can take 10 minutes or so per trip.
General decor was outdated
Some minor damage to furniture

Finally, resort fees of $40 dollars per night on top of the stay (still cant get my head around this!) killed the trip as well.

Overall, dont expect to return to this hotel quickly, would suggest considering other options

There are homeless people in the area due to your proximity to Time Square. However, the hotel is much too expensive to be considered a place for the homeless. I can only assume you are being snarky in your comment. It's not the Ritz, but it's affordable for the average person and the location could not be better.

No. Unless you have a special package deal. The last time I was there the food court was closed due to Covid and they had not reopened it. The food court was connected to the hotel. You can always call the front desk.
