jon c the world is fashion is certainly something else fashion designer Issac Mizrahi is one of the most popular names in the industry and this documentary specifically dives deep into his thinking and creation process he's about to prepare for his 1994 fall collection and he's terrified of the bad reviews he might receive if things don't go well thankfully Issac has a great team of people at his disposal, his inspiration comes from certain gestures from various things of pop culture from the Mary Tyler Moore Show and Eskimos to him it's like a giant puzzle putting things where they should be but at the same time taking the stuff out that doesn't fit this documentary was also during the 90's era when the fashion model reigned over everything even numerous celebrities make their contribution to making Issac's dream come alive from Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Richard Gere, Kate Moss, and Linda Evangelista, heck Issac even gets influence from Eartha Kitt herself there's going to be issues and drama behind the scenes obviously but the people involved make a wry sense of humor of it a majority of this is shot in grained black-and-white colors to give it that realistic look to it all then fully switches to full color when the crux of the show itself finally takes shape the show itself is bright, colorful, and filled with so many pieces of attire that's dazzling to look at showcasing Issac's taste and style the good thing about Issac is that he's not one of those typical pretentious designers that's out to make a political statement with his clothing line or seek out attention but rather just put on a show because he enjoys it and hopefully others do there's always gonna be highs and lows getting projects together but that's all part of the fun finally making it when it comes to facing criticism Issac says, "Either say something great or say it stank or ignore it… ignore it if you don't like it.' even his mother weighs in how amazing his knack for color combinations and outfit designs solidified him to take the career path he has now for any fashion lovers out there and documentary-enthusiasts this is a film not to be missed fashion is an art and Issac Mizrahi is the artist that paints a unique canvas Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member bring on the cat fights in this inside look fashion doc Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary has only gotten better with age. If you've an interest in the fashion industry this is essential viewing. It is a pitch-perfect time capsule moment for early 1990's fashion. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Isaac is a genius! I have always loved him and his collections! This was a great look into his world! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty good doc. Definitely could've been shot and edited better. Isaac is a fascinating and charismatic subject, so the movie mostly gets by on that. Worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved it because it just goes to show what a weirdo Isaac Mizrahi is and what a strange world fashion design is. Talk about falling out of any sense of reality. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
