My time at saratoga high school was very eventful. I experienced many things. Many social circles. I felt the pressure to pursue STEM but there was also great arts programs like the music/color guard program.
Excellent music program. Staff is very responsive to parent communication. Both of my children thrived here. Strong college readiness with curriculum being taught in classes.
In the upcoming school year, I will be a sophomore at SHS and I personally, have a lot of mixed feelings about the school.
There is a lot of pressure on doing well academically and it's to the point where people I know have cried about their grades when they got a B. It's pressure from other students, parents, some teachers, administration, etc. Some teachers let us do other class's homework when we have finished what was already assigned and allow hw passes occasionally. The majority of teachers are good at teaching and they create good lesson plans to keep us both interested in what we're learning and to make sure we actually learn it.
On the topic of the wellness center, however, it's not useful. They claim to care and want to help you but they probably just want money. The mental health resources need to be better.
The counselor I have was incompetent and my emails were rarely responded to. Didn't help me in the end either. It was frustrating and setting up meetings is hard too.
