    Hello,
can anyone explain me how to Bypass INITIAL SETUP wifi for a SQW100-1 Blackberry passport !
    You can't.

The only hope is to try the autoloader again and see if it works next time. Keep trying until you are successful, or decide to give up.

    Hello,
Can you please Explain how di you bypass the initial Setup WIFI using ART? I have a SQW100-1. pLease Help. I want to use the BB again !
Sideloading the ART is not about bypassing the initial setup.

That trick is only to get the Android runtime running again on an already running phone WITHOUT having to run an autoloader, which is your only other option if the ART re-installation doesn't work. But that now causes the setup problem.

Just tried my classic. No luck, it was stuck at wifi setup. After step 7, there was no cursor. My classic is locked to Fido.

    Try this instead:

    1. Connect to a wireless network.
    2. Select "Hotspot Login" at the bottom once connected.
    3. Press and hold the "Blackberry" logo you'll see on the screen which says "Your device is now connected to the Internet."
    4. Press the End Call/Power button on your device - or move your curser around.

zakiyy, this is the reason we are thinking how to SIDELOAD ART, this is when re-registering the device and initial setup can be avoided. It is jusl like restoring your ART via BB Link. Now you have a different issue.

Instead, why don't you tell me what OS version you have on yours?
Sorry I thought I had already mentioned it asking for a matching ART .bar... I have 10.3.3.1435

If you’ve used an autoloader or wiped your device since 4th Jan then you can’t sideload anything.

Try running the latest autoloader again although this is by no means a way round the stuck at wifi problem with any certainty.

I succeeded in bypassing the initial setup, where I was stuck with my z10, which I ran an autoloader on after the 4th to see what happened.

I have tried variants of the method for classic - no success. I tried running the autoloader several times - no success. Unfortunately I can't say exactly what took me past setup, or what parts of it that was important! Might just be some random behaviour of the setup process!?

However this is how I did:
I put in a SIM card and booted up. Passing the language choice I waited for mobile network to connect. After that my actions were kind of random, but att some point I toggled between the mobile connection setup and the WiFi setup and at some point when toggeling to wifi the button said, "NEXT" instead of "PREVIOUS" (or whatever it says in English) and pressing that took me further and through the BB tutorial and back to "normal". I have the same issues that other describes i.e. can't install bar, no matter it's DBBT or the playbook extension + the urge to fulfill setup.

I can turn off the device and don't need to do the process at boot up again. I don't know how this use to be but AFAIK some people has to do it again.

Did a clean install yesterday just to find out mobile networking can't complete the set up. Other than that the device is in perfect working order. Took me half a day looking for simple and WORKING contacts import/export android app to replace my one and only native application I used so far. It's mind boggling how 99.99% of the apps in play store are absolute trash. Another thing I observed was that the native accuweather stopped working, more specifically it couldn't locate my position. I ended up with droid contacts and weather apps, the rest is as usual. My Passport not only refuses to die, it's going as strong as ever.

Hey welcome to CB. I'm unclear if you were initially unable to get past setup and then got through somehow, or if you mean that you can't complete setup in order to sideload native apps. If the former then we'd like to know how you got past it.

I was able to go past all stages of the initial setup with absolutely no problems. When mobile networking couldn't connect I just pressed skip then connected to WiFi and from there just closed the setup window. At all times the skip, next and previous buttons were present and active so I was able to go back and forth as I wished. I kill the nagging complete setup notification in device monitor so it stays quiet. Sideloading is impossible but I really never felt the need for it. I haven't observed any abnormal device behavior whatsoever.

Maybe I'm on something here. When the battery is low (below 20%) and I'm trying to connect to wifi, If I close the tutorial and wait a while I will get a message to finish the setup again. Once I close the low battery message the next button is visible on the wifi connection screen (although is disabled). Usually only one button saying 'previous' is visible. But not sure where to take it from here or if it means anything...
Maybe some of the users who succefully finished the setup can confirm if they had low battery?

As we've been collecting more info about this over the last couple of days, I thought it would be a good idea to centralize and sticky this.

If you wipe a BB10 device post-shutdown, you will NOT BE ABLE TO SIDELOAD ANY APPS.

Sideloading refers to installing native apps from our archive (which is the only way to get native apps, as BlackBerry World is closed).

It doesn't matter what the device's BBID or Protect status is - it's the same for ALL.

You will still be able to install Android (v4.3) apps.

Update 1: To clarify, a wipe will REMOVE the device's BBID (if it still had one), and thus no Link backup/restores either.

Update 2: With no obvious reason, a subset of those wiping post-shutdown can't get past the wifi-phase of the initial setup.
If a solution is found, this will be updated.
Hi folks? Its me the ever friendly BB Collector and occasional Karen hater... Anyways I have found a solution to not only fix all BB10 devices but a major upgrade for the BB Playbook.... Ok I thought the end had came to my devices I did a wipe to see if I could restore... Zip not a thing.... Well after days of pondering and wonder i decided to look in my collections of BB's... Well one stood out its the BlackBerry Cyclone... Have not powered it on in years.. So I did... OMG THIS DEVICE IS A GODSEND! If you manage to have a BB Cyclone you need to connect the HDMI and usb to a computer use the remote or keyboard and place the BB Cyclone into Development Mode.... It will show on your pc to explore the files on the device.. Inside is the very first beta BlackBerry Tablet OS Autoloader.. So I extracted it from the Cyclone and placed on desktop... Thought what the heck got a bricked Playbook and Passport why not see what happens... First I connected the BB PB and OMG it installed the cyclone OS right on the playbook although screen was a little funky but still a unfinished os that didn't need to hit the bb servers activated and tablet back up and going... So hmmm I though why not try this with Passport too? Well same think Passport OS 10.3 went to Playbook Tablet Beta OS passport up and running... So hmmmmmm it gave me another idea didn't think it would work but I said what the heck... Connected playbook to the pc and 10.3 STL Autoloader is now on the Playbook with the 4.3 android player.. Now this thing is by far no speed demon it was never designed to run this os but you can still use it if you don't mind waiting about 45 seconds for an app or longer sideloading bars and installing apks direct to the device.... The 10.3 autoloader was run on the passport too... It just basically brings it back to what you have been used to no new bells or whistles... just only thing amazing is it removes the servers the needs to call home to BB to activate and just forces your activation through.. you cannot make a bb id as it will show [email protected] thats all you get but hey its something... I will keep working on it and see if i can speed pb up... but i installed BEOL browser on pb omg its awesome getting an html5test of 495.. sorry english is not good im from cuba but live in Georgia still learning but still folks bb's are far far from dead with this new discovery the skys the limit now

No and yes.. let me try to explain this again I have one of the 10 prototype Blackberry Cyclones in existence, currently 2 are sitting on ebay.... both my passport and pb was wiped and I could not set them up again... So I was remembering when i played with the Cyclone it has was it called Blackberry Tablet OS thats it no model # or anything just a beta version of cyclone software... When you place the cyclone into development mode with a usb to pc you can view the files on the cyclone... Inside it has The cyclones autoloader.. For some reason my guess is where it was signed by BB and all the devices PB and Passport was built on its framework is why it allows to override any OS on these devices and installs the beta cyclone os... Once this is done you still have a brick that looks like a cyclone on a phone... Then just take ANY autoloader you want I decided 10.3.3.2129 to give a try because it was the latest... it installed on the PB without a problem you have a little issue with the size of the icons and it runs like a 1970s scooter but it does install and gives you android 4.3 player.. I'm trying to strip it down where only its just AIR Browser and the Android Player maybe speed it up a little.... As for passport its business is usual if you follow the same steps you did with the playbook overwriting its os the cyclones os then installing 10.3 on top of cyclone os... pretty interesting I will try to upload the cyclone autoloader to mega for you guys to try if you want

So you put the cyclone tablet auto-loader onto the playbook (and passport), and then after that you put a BB10 auto-loader onto the playbook (and passport)? On the passport, it can now still act as a phone over cellular? On the playbook, you can now directly load/install Android 4.3 compatible apks? Am I understanding this all correctly?

In a way you're understanding me.. it appears the BB Cyclone Autoloader rooted the device because I can get to menu screens never seen before... So here from the beginning both devices was dead and would not get through wifi setup... I took the BB Cyclone box to see if anything was salvageable from it.. Inside the files was AUTOLOADER TABLET OS 1.1.0.1 BETA seemed interesting enough.. So i extracted it and placed on the desktop of my PC.... Then i connected to bb playbook crossed my fingers and clicked the autoloader... Well it installed basically a brick os of the media box but was still reading as Tablet OS thats what the cyclones was built on... Basically this autoloader did what dingleberry and things could not it downgraded the os to a build not recognized but signed by RIM so it installed... you could not change the bbid or create it installed its own bbdev id even the password field was gone.. Then I thought hmmm interesting again so I took the 10.3 passport autoloader and crossed the fingers one more time and it loaded playbook looks like a huge passport with tiny icons now it cannot switch out of portrait mode either... wifi works bridge works etc... just no bb servers needed to shake hands with it thinks its in bb software dev dept and believes its already home my guess.... This method also works on passport and i presume any other bb10 device would too... you can make calls, text, browse the web and do everything you did before just things are missing bbworld gone like that wouldnt help anyway, bbid is just a greyed out area that has [email protected] no place to enter a password... but sideloading bars works and direct install of apks... Side note to why i think it rooted the BB PB I installed the dead android market for 2.3 and it installs and opens to a google sign in but thats it i'm still playing with it... actually posting this right now on crackberry with the playbook been a min since that happened.... I will have the autoloader up on mega before tomorrow just stay patient folks

correction Bridge is NOT WORKING... It will detect other bluetooth devices but where PB now thinks its a passport the two can't talk to each other thats really the main thing i was wanting it my texts bridged... well well another problem on the list unless someone knows how to reverse bridge or bridge two phones together this area is out of my league
