- A young gay couple discovers a secret room filled with cash while house-sitting for a rich couple who die while out of the country.
- Married gay couple Alex and Richard love (covet) the upscale home of Jake and Chloe Jones, an affluent couple who operate a questionable charity for foreign orphans. Alex and Richard crash the Jones' house party just as the Jones's seek new house-sitters for their latest overseas trip. While the boys house-sit and discover a secret room with nearly a million dollars inside, word comes that the rich couple have died, leaving the house-sitters in a quandary over what to do next. Complicating the situation is Alex' half-sister Paige, who is married, pregnant, highly competitive against Alex, equally covetous of the house, ruthless, knowledgeable about there being a hidden fortune somewhere, and who, along with her husband Cooper, have been swindled by the Jones's and aggressively want what's due them.—statmanjeff
- Married Angelenos Richard Nearly and Alex Reardon aspire to a more fabulous lifestyle than what they can afford, especially home ownership and being parents. In both those aspects, they feel like they are always behind Alex's half-sister and her husband, Drs. Paige and Cooper Whitehead, both grief counselors (Ph.D.s as opposed to M.D.s) who they don't really like beyond being family, who have recently purchased a house, and who have just announced that they are expecting their first child. Richard and Alex get a taste of that life to which they aspire when a by-chance situation leads to them being asked to house-sit Edendale, the Silver Lake home of Paige and Cooper's "friends", philanthropists Chloe and Jake Jones who are traveling to Bhutan to deal with their charity du jour, an orphanage. Beyond the gay/straight divide, Richard and Alex see Chloe and Jake as their role models, from the philanthropy, especially in supporting the orphanage in they trying to adopt, to Edendale, which is their dream house. Two items that occur in quick order have the potential to change their lives drastically: first, they discover just short of $1 million in cash in a hidden room in Edendale; and second, they learn that Chloe and Jake were killed in Bhutan in an "accident". As such, they internally battle the want to make sure that the money gets to the orphanage in Bhutan or any other worthwhile charity in lieu against using the money for their own personal wants, especially home ownership, the latter which raises in importance when they learn that Edendale is for sale. The situation gets even more complicated by what they don't know is happening behind the scenes: that Paige and Cooper are trying to get that money themselves as Chloe and Jake bilked them out of it in an unethical property transaction, and as such Paige and Cooper may have had something to do with the "accident" in Bhutan.—Huggo
