What did you think of the voices of the enemies in the remake?

REMAKE
The majority who write here do not speak Spanish but they will give their opinion based on the tone of voice and things like that, I am Spanish and I am glad that they speak in Spanish from Spain, it was a good combination
Villagers: tone of rural people
Monks: very terrifying
Soldiers: Crazy and psychopaths

I'm a Spaniard, and if I'm honest, I found the older voices hilarious because they were clearly made by someone who didn't bother to listen to a Spanish person talk. I like the remake ones because they add seriousness (remake is more serious overall), but if I had to choose a game based on the voices, I would choose OG just for the sheer goofiness

Yeah in the OG they sound really goofy and kinda over the top. I loved it then and now I love it for the nostalgia hehe

The new ones sound more subtle and more serious which fits the games tone very well.

So I like both versions!

These are the best lines in my opinion:

Aprisa, aprisa se escapan los corderitos. Perseguidles; guiadles hacia el perdón infinito.

Oh Señor, somos tu martillo. Que los vivos reciban tu juicio y los muertos se consagren al señor.

Puedes correr, pero no te puedes esconder.

Not as memorable as the original. Nothing they say really stands out other than the Staff Zealot. I love the Staff Zealot.

¡A CUBIERTO!

I’m not Spaniard but I do speak Spanish and I LOVE THE SPANISH VOICELINES😭🫶🏼 it makes the game more authentic and if people understand what the NPCs are saying then it definitely adds more to the atmosphere of the game

I loved it when in the OG the villagers would say “te voy hacer picadillo” it’s so funny

I personally think they’re just as memorable as the OG. And I really enjoy the fact that in the remake they’re actually speaking Spanish from Spain versus the OG which is so clearly Mexican Spanish. I’m always saying “Detrás de ti, Imbécil”

The delivery and tone is great for the remake. I do, in fact, miss the hilarity of how the OG was. But they definitely did a good job.

Also not a Spaniard, but I play both the OG and remake a lot to know enough.

I miss the OG chant that went something like "molires vivir, molires vivir"

But in the remake I really liked the Prayer that started with "Oh Senior" but I can't find it what it was anywhere online

"Morir es vivir" as in 'Dying is life'.

I really digged the "Gloria a las Plagas" one, heh.

Ohhh, wow. Thanks for the explanation, I like it even more now

Close. It means “to die is to live”.

Yeah I was not translating literally, stranger.

"Oh Señor, somos tu ganado. Oh Señor, somos tu martillo. Que los vivos reciban tu juicio, y los muertos se consagren al Señor."

"Oh Lord, we are your cattle. Oh Lord, we are your hammer. Let the live receive your judgement, while the dead consecrate to the Lord"

And, yes, "Ganado" is "Cattle", Saddler considers his army as disposable animals that merely serve him

You absolute legend!!! Thank you for this

No problem! My main language is spanish so it's really awesome to experience this game. Glad to help

What did you think of the soldiers' phrases?

It seems more terrifying to me morir es vivir

To die is to live. Gives one shivers.

I wanted to say that that sentence seems more terrifying to me than dying is living.

I enjoyed the delivery of the original more, even if it was broken Spanish 🤷‍♂️

But they sounded great in the remake as well.
