BEWARE! Yes we knew the ship was older and yes it did rock more without stabilizers. But what I was not prepared for was the plumbing issue we had in our state room and across the ship including public bathrooms. The toilet did not flush correctly a.k.a. it just filled up with water. We were on a six day cruise and 3 to 4 of the days we had to call somebody in, in the morning so we could go to the bathroom and flush our toilet. Which didn’t happen right away! This was happening in the public areas as well. When you go somewhere, you expect to have the proper facilities, no matter how old the ship is. It was my SIL first cruise and it wasn’t the best showing for Princess.

I’ve been with Princess cruises since 2007 when I took my family on a two week Mediterranean cruise on the old Sea Princess. Since then I’ve accrued 94 sea days sailing the eastern Mediterranean, Baltics, Norway, South America, Asia & the Caribbean. They are not the same company. While their onboard experience has deteriorated substantially (now charging for room service, anywhere dining, & Alfredo’s pizza which used to be free) cramming more pay as you go fee restaurants & bigger ships, the pre-cruise experience is no better. I’m currently booked on a 16 night cruise to SE England, Ireland, Iceland, & Scotland on Caribbean Princess. To start with Princess no longer allows you to speak with anyone in the USA, it’s outsourced to the Philippines. The language barrier to terrible. But that’s the tip of the iceberg…….. After booking our cruise in March 2023 with a travel agency, lI noticed the price drop in July 2023. Upon contacting my agency asking for a price rebate, they told me that princess said you have to rebook it. I received a refund, canceling the cruise. I then reached out to a new agency who helped me rebook the cruise in a balcony state room substantially cheaper with better onboard credit. In January 2025 the price dropped yet again! My agency spent almost 2 hours trying to get OBC or refund, Princess lied & said the cruise was “complete” and it was too late. I looked online & saw plenty of cabins available. My agent was hung up on by Princess. I called back speaking to a new agency representative who was able to convince Princess to “do the right thing & refund. My credit card. On April 5th yet another price drop! Wow! My agent was able to get the refund for $1283. I was feeling victorious. My agency was told by Princess they would refund my money within or up to 2 weeks. It’s now the 19th, exactly 2 weeks later & when I called my agency to call Princess, they now said it may take up to 5 May, one whole month…..Unacceptable! This will be my last cruise with this company unless they change thier ways. Poor customer service & lacking credibility. It is very import for cruisers to understand the pre-cruise experience as well as the on board experience.

Just left Florida today. So far fair. A lot of little kids on boat which is fine. But one of the Managers on Lido deck doesn’t want to have the adult only pool regulated. Many youngsters toddlers jumping into adult only pool. They have 2 other pool areas. Kids can be there. Don’t have rules if you don’t enforce them. Or just choose to enforce rules you want to. My wife and I have no children and would appreciate some time around the pool without them. George said it might start a riot. Not my problem. Happy vacation with Princess!

The Caribbean Princess is one of the older Princess ships. The stabalizers are not very good and with slight waves the ship rocked side to side. We had a Balcony Cabin at the back end of the ship and we could feel the vibrations from the engine up on our 12th floor deck. The ship has more bars then needed on this ship. The dining room is just one level in height and access to the rear dining room is on the rear 5th floor level. There are only 2 of the 4 rear elevators that can access this floor and they are slow. Lido Deck Buffet is just OK, little here as far as food changes day to day. Shows were good, but ran about 15 minuites short of published run times. We stopped at Princess Cray (didn't get off the ship), Jamaica (Nothing to see here), Grand Cayman (took the 2 hr bus tour, turned into 3 hrs here) and Cozemel (a tourest trap with shops just off the pier area). One Gotcha was the "Future Cruise Promo" they had on the ship. They offered 3 different packages for Future Cruises. We both purchased the $4,500 Future Cruise Package and found it was a mistake after we tried to use the Premium Hotel Stays portion of the package. Only 3,000 ($3,000) could be used towards a future cruise. The "5 Day Premium Stay" at hotels turned out to be a "Certificate" Towards your hotel stay at only certin hotels booked through a 3rd party site. When we looked up a stay at some hotels, the Certificate discount was around $70 in Nashville. The value of the package was not worth the cost and the package is run through a 3rd party in Arizona. You only have 7 DAYS TO CANCEL THE PACKAGE and none of the details are given to you on the ship. You have to go to the PrincessPromotions web site for all the fine print of the contarct. We had a hard time cancelling our packages and getting out $700 Deposits back. Also cancelling our ship booked future cruise deposits ($100 each) was jumping through hoops with our Princess Booking Agent. The Agents claim was, that we Purchase a Future Cruise Deposit! Not that we put a deposit on the cruise we cancelled and wanted our deposits refunded. I'm still waiting for my cancelled cruise deposit refund to hit my VISA in March (7-10 Business Days).

This was our first cruise and it was amazing. Everything is spot on from the condition of the ship to the service to the food to the beverages. I would recommend this ship to anyone interested in trying a cruise or for multiple cruisers.
