About “I Can Feel You Forgetting Me”

‘I Can Feel You Forgetting Me’ is the fourth studio album by indie-pop band Neon Trees. It comes just over six years after their previous release, ‘Pop Psychology’ and lead vocalist Tyler Glenn’s 2016 solo album, ‘Excommunication.’ The first single, “Used to Like,” was released on November 13, 2019, followed by “New Best Friend” on May 20, 2020. This is the band’s first album released under their own label, Thrill Forever, LLC. Additionally, this will be the band’s first explicit-labeled album.

As noted by the video teaser for ‘I Can Feel You Forgetting Me,’ the album’s concept revolves around ghosting culture’s impact and self love.

“Ghosting culture is very much a modern part of how we interact as humans. I have this phone in my hand with 7 or 8 different ways to reach a person, and yet in as many seconds as it takes to block a person, or unfriend them, I can’t reach them anymore. I literally could feel him forgetting me.
I’m embracing the ugly side of being addicted to someone. It’s messy and unflattering. It’s beautiful and cinematic. It’s ultimately unfair to expect anyone to complete you.
It sounds like one full night of reflection, alone at the bar, walking past the places you’d go with them, texting them when you shouldn’t, and ultimately embracing the idea that no one else can complete you, you must find completeness and joy in yourself.”
