Curtis Wilber Obituary

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. - Curtis J. Wilber of Cottonwood, formerly of Bradford, Pa., passed away April 25, 2024 in Cottonwood.
Born Jan. 23, 1964, to Jerry Lee and Sandra Mae Wilber, Curt knew how to enjoy life. He easily made friends and was never afraid to tell anyone how it was, or at least, how it ought to be.
After graduating from Bradford Area High School, Curt went on to study and swim at Fairmont College in Virginia. He went on to join the U.S. Air Force where he served for almost four years working as a munitions systems specialist. Curt then became an electrician in the IBEW Local No. 5 for 14 years before moving to Cottonwood with his family to operate and later own convenience stores.
Surviving are his spouse of 34 years, Robin T. Wilber; three children, Amanda Wilber (Jak Teel), David Wilber (Sarah Rosensteel) and Dylan Wilber; two grandsons, Xander and Rowan Teel; and three brothers, two sisters and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Jerry and Sandra Wilber.
Curt enjoyed hanging out and drinking beer with friends and family, listening to good tunes, researching, watching movies, taking drives out to the middle of nowhere and napping. He enjoyed being involved in various swimming and wrestling programs with his kids and grandkids. Luckily, he'll never have to find out when the shit really hits the fan. And luckily for his family, he's prepared them for what to do when it does!
Curt was laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale on May 7, 2024. As requested, a party celebrating his life with lots of friends and family, music and food was held in his honor.

Dear Julie and Family,

I´m so sorry to hear about Curt. I remember him from school...always smiling and just a nice young man. Sincere condolences to the Wilber family.

Some cousins are more like brothers and sisters. Curt was like an older brother. He gave me my first cigarette (Kool's). We smoked two or three and got sick as a dog. Then, there was swimming at Callahan Park, family reunions and get-togethers, camping, hunting, etc. My wife and I were camping in Flagstaff, AZ several years, ago and drove down to Cottonwood just to say, "hello". He treated me just like a long-lost brother. He took us for a ride up near his hunting grounds, bought us lunch at a rustic old tavern and showed us his new property, where he was going to build a new house. I am glad that the last visit was such a good one, so I have that one as a last memory. Curt, you and your family have our prayers and condolences.
