I checked into the Dana Hotel on 12/23 for one night. I have never stayed at this hotel and I was traveling alone. I have been to Chicago many times so after checking in I changed and went to get something to eat. I decided to eat at Bijon's across the street and a man who works at the Dana Hotel was sitting at the bar alone. I was alone as well and he recognized me so we began having general conversations. Shortly after I recognized that he had brought me toothpaste to my room when I called the front desk to ask for some. During this time we are talking and the conversation is going well but then that changes. As I am close to being ready to leave and I asked for my tab the gentleman begins to tell me how the Dana Hotel provides him with rooms since he lives an hour out of the city and has to be to work early. He invites me to his room, I decline. He then proceeds to tell me multiple times that he can find out where my room is anyways. This made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable and as a staff member of the hotel I am thinking he possibly can get a key card to my room. This gentleman goes to the bathroom and I get up to leave, I walk outside to cross the street and he is now behind me but doesn't come through the hotel front door and I did not see him again that night. Already very uncomfortable, as I'm walking through the front doors, the night attendant of the hotel then asks me for my phone number. At this point I am beyond mad as I have NEVER experienced such harassment at any hotel I've ever stayed at. When I get to the front desk I notify the man working at the desk about the gentleman across the street and how he said he can find my room. The man at the front desk totally dismissed my concerns and said not to worry about him, it was just liquid courage and to deadbolt my door.

I am appalled at my stay at the Dana Hotel. When I called the manager the desk day, Ramsey, he was very polite and very concerned. He assured me this would be handled but at no point was I offered a refund for my stay. I could not sleep and checked out earlier than I had expected. I will NEVER be back to stay at the Dana Hotel and will never recommended this to any of my family or friends. I will also never patronize Apogee again, which I have been to many times and is the reason I decided to give the Dana Hotel a try on the 23rd.

I plan on voicing my stay on many platforms to inform people, especially women traveling alone, about my first and last stay at the Dana Hotel. In less than 13 hours of my stay there I was harassed, my privacy was invaded, and my concerns dismissed.

The spa experience was good - particularly the massage. Unfortunately, the customer experience dealing with the retail staff/manager was not.

At the end of my service, I went to pay the tip (had already purchased the Travelzoo deal). Tip was 20% based on true service prices--before Travelzoo discounts. The charge ended up being 50% of the service prices, so I knew something was off. The staff told me that it was correct, so I left. Shortly after, I dove into the listed prices on the website, and discovered that I was in fact correct. The staff realized at the same and called me back to tell me they accidentally charged me for a product that I didn't receive, ask for or want. They went ahead and refunded and told me I should see it reflected on my credit card within a couple of days, and I should let them know if I didn't see it.

After a few days, I didn't see it, so I called back - took a good 3 phone calls to get ahold of the correct person. He investigated and realized that they made another mistake - they hadn't actually refunded my card. He said he went ahead and issued the refund to my card, and again I should see this reflected within a couple of days.

After a couple of days, it wasn't reflected. The admin at the spa said that they can see the transaction in their system, so they've done they're part, and I'd have to reach out to the credit card. I've now begun the dispute process with my credit card, which will eventually get this fixed.

According to Eurostars own description the "spa services are geared towards providing maximum relaxation for each and every guest, ensuring they always have a revitalizing experience." The relaxation lasted only for the duration of the actual service--since then I've been stuck fixing their errors, which I don't have the time or energy to do their jobs for them.

While the service was nice, it was not worth the added stress.

Sometimes TripAdvisor steers you right and sometimes it steers you wrong. Not sure how the Dana Hotel Spa ended up as #2 for Chicago Spas, but they must have a great marketing team who write convincing reviews.

The guest services staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. The spa is fine, but you wait in your robe in the lobby of the spa which is awkward, the locker room is v small and not comfortable if there are more than two people in it and it is basic, and if you want to use the steam room, you have to sit in it for like 20min until it is steamed up.

This place is great if you have a regular routine or you need something quick and easy, but if you are looking for a relaxing luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of the city or a long work trip, well this is not going to be the place for you.

Finally, a deep tissue massage is really just a regular massage, a really nice and pleasant massage but not real deep tissue.

First world problems and all that. Hats off to the Dana Hotel marketing team as somehow you got the spa rated as #2 and it is not worthy of it.

This massage was the complete opposite of relaxing. The therapist was either completely out of touch doing body work and/or she was completely new to the profession. I had to wait 10 minutes for the therapist to arrive. The room was freezing and I asked her repeatedly to turn the air down and the heat on the bed, which never happened. I was shivering the entire massage. She was annoyed when I tried to discuss the amount of pressure of the massage. At one point she was pinching my skin and it was painful and when I told her the pressure was pinching she got annoyed and stopped massaging that part of my leg and threw the sheet over me. In the end, the massage ended at the time that it should have according to my appointment, but since I was waiting for them for 10 minutes, they should have accommodated the full 50 minutes that the massage was supposed to be. There were other weird things but it's not even worth mentioning. I was staying in the hotel and was hoping to have a great experience, but I didn't even want to stay to enjoy the spa services. I was annoyed and told the front desk and they said they would mention it to the manager. They should care more about bad experiences like this and not let a patron walk out not addressing it. Writing a review is the only recourse I have, so hopefully they read and care about the reviews and can improve based on it.

I was slightly irritated when we were checking in because my information was mixed up with someone else. Once that was rectified, we were given keys to our room that didn't work. So, I had to go back to the front desk area, went to different front desk staff member & found out that the keys didn't work because the room number we received was the wrong room & on a completely different floor! :-/

I booked a corner king room that was super sexy! Two walls with floor-ceiling windows with an amazing view of the city, hardwood floors & a huge glass shower that is another wall of the room. The bed was super comfy!

Don't forget to visit Vertigo, the rooftop bar/lounge. Great music, mixed crowd, really nice atmosphere.

All of the people I encountered were very friendly and professional. I stayed in a corner room, which has almost two full walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. I loved looking out at the city lights at night and closing the blackout shades when it was time to get some sleep. I could hear a little street noise but it was not bothersome and I heard no noise from the adjoining room at all. The only downside was the restaurant, which was only average and had a small selection. I will absolutely stay there again!

I love this hotel. Staff is very friendly, service orientated. The hotel, it's bars and spa are contemporary ( but not too contemporary) classy and hip. I feel like a VIP when staying here.

Get a corner king, they have incredible floor to ceiling windows that offer incredible views of the city. Almost like a fishbowl, always changing, alive with activity and great architecture.

Facilities are very nice!

We did not stay at the Hotel but only visited as guests of the Eurostars spa. What a treat it was! The booking process was simple online, even for a couples massage, which is usually not an option for online booking. Our appointment time was available, confirmed at the time of booking and further confirmed by email, so I felt very confident booking online. Upon arrival, take the elevator up to the hotel lobby and then transfer to another elevator (behind the registration desk) to reach the spa. The locker rooms were nice; small & compact but clean and inviting. I used each of the steam room, sauna and regular shower. All were very nice. I wouldn’t recommend using the shower in the steam room at the same time the steam is on—it gets VERY steamy to the point of not being able to see and the water is scalding hot! You’re probably not supposed to use them at the same time anyway! These are inside the locker room (and my husband confirmed they are also present in the men’s locker room), so you can’t enjoy them as a couple. That’s probably for the best but it would have been nice to relax with my husband in the salt sauna. The salt itself was a small part of the sauna, in the form of bricks covering about 1/3 of the back wall. It made a nice lighting effect but that’s about it. All of these amenities were nice, about what you expect from a good spa. There were individuals lockers available for your clothes and items. The real gem was the massage itself! There was a “relaxation room” with 6-8 plush lounge chairs to wait in after the locker room and before the massage. Your masseuse will collect you from there. The couples massage room was very comfortable: good space for 2 tables and both masseurs. I believe my masseuse was “Melizca” (hopefully I’m not butchering that too bad, because she was FANTASTIC) and I can’t remember the woman my husband had. He really liked his too. We both felt it was one of the best massages we’d ever had. I never visited this site when it was the Dana spa, so I’m not sure how it compares, but the new ownership has done a phenomenal job. The hotel itself has a cool, edge vibe, so we’ll have to give it a try next time—along with massages!!

Stayed at the Dana for one night over the weekend in January 2019. The hotel is a smaller hotel and has a modern style. The location is nice to popular areas in Chicago such as shops, restaurants, and theaters. The reason I choose to say here was because of the Tranquil suite and the price. I wanted a room with more space and spa-like bathroom. I compared other hotels with pros and cons to what I was looking for in a suite. For that weekend, I found Dana had the best price for what I was looking to get out of a suite. Speaking of the spa-like features, I was able to experience the spa located on the 4th floor. I made a reservation for a pedicure. The spa was on the smaller side. It has a separate shower/sauna area for men and women. The locker room had only 2 spa-inspired showers and a tiny sauna. It was okay considering at the time only me and my friend were in there at that time, had more people been in the locker room it would have felt cramped. I highly recommend the pedicure! It wasn't too pricey and was very relaxing. Back to the room, the room was awesome. It had a spacious living room area with a couch, a chair, and tv which connected to a wet bar area with a high top table and chairs. There was a balcony attached to the living room as well. In a sperate room was the king sized bed and another separate balcony. The bedroom was also spacious and the king size bed was super comfy. We definitely would have taken more advantage of the balconies had it not been January in Chicago. The balconies were small but definitely was a nice bonus to have an awesome view(s) of the city! Lastly, the bathroom which pretty much sold me on the room. It has two sinks, a separate area for the toilet and the beautiful, huge shower that features TWO rain shower heads, spray jets, a wand, and two benches on each side of the shower. For the price, I would recommend this suite to anyone who is looking to get more out of a room than a standard king or double queen room.

Beautiful, serene space. Attentive staff. Decent sized locker room with sauna and showers. My therapist (Samantha) was outstanding. Definitely a sanctuary among the bustle of the city. Highly recommend.
