in my opinion she was an amazing ellie on season 1 ,but i feel like she doesnt look as ruthless or matured. like theres so many scenes like when joel dies and the lil 1v1 in the end. great actress but i atleast wish we had someone who looked over 17

That’s my point. You haven’t even seen the performance and you’re prejudging based off of still images.
Why not just hold your thoughts for a little bit and wait and see how she does in the roll?

I almost wonder if they are showing pictures from before the time jump and saving her real look. I’ve seen set photos and she looks more like part 2 Ellie in those
As a professional actor of 10 years, I can say from experience that ageing up is done more effectively by writing and performance than it is by appearance.
The writing will make Bella more mature, and their performance will likely reflect that writing.
Some people are just desperate to be offended and love to complain.
Given some of the Part II responses it’s not surprise that a lot of the fanbase are very reactionary and childish.
I’m sure Bella will smash it.

Bella is 20, so unless you struggle to believe they are 20 in real life, you’ll be able to believe that they are 18 as Ellie.

A lot complained about Bella Ramsey having the wrong look when it was announced she would play Ellie. Now they pretend she was good for season 1 but still complains about her look. We have seen a couple of blurry production stills. We don't know if they were even shooting or if it was shot between takes. I think people should hold off complaining until we've seen some actual footage from her performance in season 2.

Bella didn't look right for season 1 and she didn't play her well. Partly because of her looks and partly because of the writing/direction. It's fair to assume those issues will only get bigger in season 2. The only one who I thought was well done was Sarah, apart from that it felt like a cheap copy.

I think Bella has earned the right for us to withhold a decision until it's released. I'll admit I was skeptical going into season one but she was incredible.
